I am using PPTP + OATH for the exact same purpose. OATH is a 2-factors authentication device that generates a unique password. Behavior with Maverick: 1) without an SD card, nothing shows up on the USB bus 2) with an SD card (manufacturer mentionned 2GB max) formatted with a single FAT32 partition, both the internal memory & the SD-card properly auto-mount.
