Hello Everyone. I've been following this thread and tried every fix here to no avail. I live in Canada and I want to keep my Ubuntu in English, with Canadian Locale because most of the time I'll be writing in english and working regularly with Canadian (very similar to us) locale, I guess... but when I'm relaxing Talking to family or friends in Brasil, I'll need accents like áéíúú and the f'ing ç. Right now the closest I've come was having 2 "entry methods" that I switch back and forth. 1) English (Canada) for when I'm writing in english and 2) English (US, International with DeadKeys) for when I want to write Portuguese-BR. Here is what I've done so far My Ubuntu version to begin with: geraldo@geraldubuntu:~$ uname -v #44~16.04.1-Ubuntu SMP Thu Nov 9 15:37:44 UTC 2017 Language support: English (Canada) Keyboard input method (None) (had tried with iBus) no difference. Those two keyboards layout as mentioned. I think I have found a replacement for Nautilus, it is called Nemo (!). From its webpage (http://cinnamon.linuxmint.com/?p=198): Nemo is a complete fork of Nautilus 3.4 and its goal is to extend the Cinnamon user experience to desktop and file management. It is included in Ubuntu's 13.10 default repositories. Install it with: sudo apt-get install nemo It looks a lot like Nautilus, but has the missing goodies: status bar, split screen and backspace key to go up (instead of Alt-up). At the very least, why not leave it disabled by default and give the user the option to enable it? I did this : First, I saved my file in html in a folder with the extension .html, tested it in a browser (firefox) so I started to write my signature in Evolution, I chosed HTML to compose in Composer Preferences, then I insert my html file in using INSERT in principal menu. I was plagued by this random bug several times with Ubuntu 8.10, and it is a bit better with 9.04. I use a vertical panel on the right side 32 pixels wide. I was so upset when it happend on Ubuntu 8.10 that I removed the clock app. But after calming down I added it again and set it to show the seconds, to make it easier to see if its frozen. Last time my panel froze was right after an update via the update manager. The clock freezes but you can still right click it and get the properties dialog. Agora não acontece dessa maneira... depois da reinicialização está dando outro erro nao mais o congelamento do sistema: Nao foi possivel determinar o tipo de fluxo. Still present in Gutsy. However, I noticed it from the GUI in the Network Manager application. In this form. it is particularly cruel. When you enter the WPA passphrase in System-Administration-Network-Wireless, the field is asterisked like in a password field. Who could possibly guess you had to enclose the passphrase in quotes!!!
