[Bug 1022660] Re: Cannot see recent pictures on my Library

2012-08-15 Thread Giovanni Mellini
Hi Clint,
after your comment I did some investigation. First of all I can confirm I have
no filter applied on my library.

After some test I found that the problem with missing pictures on my library is
a picture ordering problem (should we change the title of the bug?)
In fact I noticed that last imported pictures are at the bottom of the library
while these pictures should be at top (I have pictures ordered by date, desc).

So the situation now (I can always reproduce this) is:
My library starts with a picture from 15 Jul 2012 and I have all the pictures
well ordered until 3 Sept 2004
After these pictures I have some pictures with no date at all (don't ask me why
:) ) then 6 videos imported from an iPhone with date 1 Jan 1904 (unix date I
think) and then I have my last imported pictures (the missing ones) from 31 Jul
2012 and (strange again) a lot of videos from 2012, 2011 and 2010 (ordered).

Some more info.
If I press F8 while watching my library and then I click the Video type button
filter for 2 times, then the library become well ordered.
If I press F8 and then click 2 times Pictures type button filter the library
remains unordered (same if I press raw type button)

So the hint to have my library well ordered is to press the Video button filter
2 times.
One more problem: after this action pictures with date 1 Jan 1904 are displayed
before pictures with date 31 Jul 2012 and this is wrong.

Hope this help, I can add more info if you ask me.
Tks
Giovanni

[Bug 1022660] [NEW] Cannot see recent pictures on my Library

2012-07-09 Thread Giovanni Mellini
Public bug reported:

Hi
I hope I can explain my problem.
I have Shotwell 0.12.3 installed in an up-to-date 12.04 Ubuntu install.
I noticed since last import that I have missing pictures in my Lybrary section.
I cannot see some of the most recent pictures.
These pictures are well imported and with the right date and I can browse from
the Events tree.

Don't know how I can help debugging.
Tks in advance

[Bug 645862] Re: Import problem log incomplete

2012-03-12 Thread Giovanni Mellini
I got this error while moving my pictures to a brand new installation of
Precise (Shotwell 0.11.93-0ubuntu2).
I just copied my whole library (11940 pictures/movies, 34,6 GB total) in the
Images directory and started Shotwell.
I said to import the Images directory and I got a similar report from Shotwell.

Now I cannot see which file are missing and I cannot import it anymore.
Can anyone help??

[Bug 645862] Re: Import problem log incomplete

2012-03-12 Thread Giovanni Mellini
Tks Laura.
I finnaly imported all my pictures. I discovered launching shotwell via command
line
 SHOTWELL_LOG=1 shotwell
that the images not imported give me the error Unable to perform MD5 checksum
on file. It was a problem with the local copy of these files. I copied it
again, import and now is ok.
I think is useful for users to hare a more accurated report of which files are
not imported, and a detail of why these files are not imported

[Bug 127315] Re: F-Spot puts photos in Photos folder not Pictures folder

2008-11-19 Thread Giovanni Mellini
I noticed this really annoying bug Today.
It's incredible that f-spot don't allow the user to change the Image directory,
considering that you can do this from command line

f-spot -p ~/Immagini

I use the Italian localization on 8.10 and I remember that with older
versions this was allowed with the GUI.

I hope this will fixed asap
