[Bug 864504] Re: Deja-dup crashes on gvfsd-sftp

2011-10-04 Thread Guy Van Sanden
It was 100% reproducable for several days, but the problem seems to have
disappeared exactly the way it came...

The SSH server is an Ubuntu 10.04 machine that has been running a long
time, other clients where fine except for deja-dup on my Oneiric
machine.

Will see if it resurfaces, but it's been gone for 2 days now...

After a recent update of Oneiric, my laptop enters sleep mode even when
connected to AC (this setting is not checked and even greyed out in the

[Bug 445674] Re: No GUI option to set clock format

2009-11-02 Thread Guy Van Sanden
This isn't a GUI problem as GDM used to, and should, follow the locale
setting for time and that is 24 hour in my case (as stated before).

It follows neither, so it displays 08:00 instead of 20:00 but ommits
AM/PM suffixes.

[Bug 461958] [NEW] Black screen on video playback (all file formats)

2009-10-27 Thread Guy Van Sanden
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: totem

Totem shows a black screen when playing back video. VLC shows the same symptom
until I switch the output to OpenGL.
These are common Avi, DivX files or even DVD's.

Playback was OK until somewhere near Karmic Beta

[Bug 435788] [NEW] GDM shows time incorrectly

2009-09-24 Thread Guy Van Sanden
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gdm

The New GDM in Karmic shows the time without AM/PM suffix because my
locale defaults to 24-hour time (which is correct), yet it uses the
12-hour timeschale (showing 6:00 instead of the expected 18:00 or at
least 6:00 PM).

This is both with the en_DK locale I use to get the English language but
24-hour time and the Euro symbol as the Dutch_Belgium locale I installed
on other systems.

[Bug 417665] [NEW] empathy tubes no longer supported in recent karmic build

2009-08-23 Thread Guy Van Sanden
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: vinagre

After a recent updat of vinagre, telepathy tubes (share my desktop in empathy)
are broken.
I consulted the telepathy IRC channel and they pointed out that vinagre needs
to be compiled with the right options to support this function.

[Bug 160724] gnome-screensaver, blank screen with compiz and multiple user logins

2007-11-07 Thread Guy Van Sanden
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-screensaver

Shortly after the release of Gutsy, a security update was released for
gnome-screensaver when used with compiz.

After this update, I have problems unlocking my screen when a second
user is logged in. When I switch back to my login, it shows a beige
screen with a pointer, but no unlock dialog. The only solution so far
is to kill the gnome-screensaver process of that user.

This never occurs with one user logged in, it did not occur before the
security fix.

[Bug 49451] New events from Evolution are marked private on the pilot

2006-06-12 Thread Guy Van Sanden
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-pilot-conduits

After one of the last updates before dapper final, my gpilot started to
behave weird.

Events and tasks that are created in Evolution appear as private on the
pilot (so are not visible without password).

I checked the events on Evolution and their classification along with
all other events/tasks is also private. Existing events are not synced
private though.

The way arround for now is to open each PC created event on the pilot
and uncheck 'private'.

[Bug 40309] Admin menus not visible with alternative admin groupname

2006-05-17 Thread Guy Van Sanden
Public bug reported:

I use a central authentication server (LDAP/Kerberos) on my Ubuntu
network.

For each machine, there's an admin group in ldap which I put in sudoers
instead of the admin group.

This way, I can give LDAP users admin access to certain boxes.

This worked very well in Breezy, but in Dapper the admin section of the
menu shows only those entries you are allowed to access. But it seems
it uses membership op the admin group to determine this.

As I do not use that group, my admin users also do not see these
options.

Public bug reported:

 Status: Needs Info

Description:
I upgraded my Breezy workstation to Dapper at Flight 5 and went to the
subsequent upgrades up to the Beta (last update: 2006-04-24).

After the upgrade, removable devices were no longer automounted on my
desktop.

Creating a new user did not solve anything.

There are no errors, nothing in syslog or dmesg except the succesfull
detection of the drive.

Clicking CD-ROM in places does mount my CD-ROM.

I tested with several USB sticks and a CD-ROM.
