[Bug 1951686] [NEW] USB drives turns read-only when emptying Trash
Public bug reported: Ubuntu version: Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS Nautilus version: 1:3.36.3-0ubuntu1.20.04.1 Overview: Nautilus appears to move files to Trash when deleting files, regardless of what drive it happens on. This threw me off for a bit as I never expected deleted files to be moved into trash on a USB drive, I expected it to permanently delete. Expected behaviour: After moving to Trash, when I empty the Trash, it should actually empty and reclaim storage space. Actual behaviour: When emptying Trash, the entire USB drive turns read-only. This happened regardless of what USB drive I tested. The Trash, also, doesn't actually get emptied. Trying to delete the `.Trash-1000` folder in Terminal shows that it is indeed read-only file system. Thinking it was corrupted I put the USB drive in my MacBook Pro and it works there. Deleted `.Trash-1000` on the MBP and now it works. ** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1951686 Title: USB drives turns read-only when emptying Trash To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/1951686/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1892276] Re: thumbnails stretched on desktop 20.04 after previous bug fix release
A possible fix: In https://gitlab.gnome.org/World/ShellExtensions/desktop-icons/-/blob/master/fileItem.js#L373 (or locally /usr/share/gnome-shell/extensions/desktop-icons@csoriano/fileItem.js): Replace: `let containerWidth = (this._icon.allocation.x2 - this._icon.allocation.x1) * scaleFactor;` with `let containerWidth = (this._icon.allocation.x2 - this._icon.allocation.x1);` The scaleFactor here is unnecessary. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell-extension-desktop-icons in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1892276 Title: thumbnails stretched on desktop 20.04 after previous bug fix release To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-shell-extension-desktop-icons/+bug/1892276/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 850749] Re: Display unreadable after dimming
There is definitely something strange going on in the settings daemon (also). When I select the screen settings and slide the brightness control, I would expect the screen to get darker or brighter depending on the direction in which I move the slider. This is not happening. When I move it to the left it sometimes gets brighter then darker and brighter again. Very strange. The brightness keys, when they work which is not always the case, have a similar effect. Dimming may actually make the screen brighter. I still observe the original problem. When the screen dims, it stays dark. Hibernate/resume will bring it back. It's easy enough to reproduce. [Bug 390728] Re: evolution crash with SIGPIPE
Can't really describe what I was doing, which is why I said randomly. I was working in another workspace. When I switched back to the workspace that had Evolution, I noticed that the window did not update. So I switched to the workspace that has the gdb session from which I run Evolution and I noticed that it had crashed. It's not reproducible, but I've had several since I run Evolution from gdb. Before that I couldn't tell what caused the crashes. Several times a week is my best guess at the moment for the frequency. -- evolution crash with SIGPIPE https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/390728 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
Re: [Bug 390728] Re: evolution crash with SIGPIPE
Pedro, Would you rather have me report these bugs directly into Bugzilla on Gnome or should I got through launchpad? Is that what Sebastian was asking? In the past I have reported directly to Gnome. Perhaps I misunderstood, but I thought one of the advantages of launchpad was to link these together (sort of). [Bug 385867] [NEW] Evolution crash with SIGSEGV
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evolution I wasn't doing anything in particular with evolution when it crashed with SIGSEGV. However I do have schedules where I process new messages from a local store and imap and filter these. So it could have been during one of those actions. This happens about ones a day. Attached is the stack backtrace of all threads. Evolution was very stable for me under 8.10. This problem started as soon as I upgraded to Jaunty 9.04. Currently using evolution 2.26.1-0ubuntu2. I'm currently trying to run evolution under valgrind, but I'm not sure that will be a workable option as it seems to slow evolution down to a crawl. Please let me know what I can do to help fix this issue. ** Affects: evolution (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Evolution crash with SIGSEGV https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/385867 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evolution in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 314966] Re: Inverted scroll wheel in new gnome-volume-control
It is still the same as described in the previous post in 9.04 (Jaunty). Please fix the reversed action in the pop up box. -- Inverted scroll wheel in new gnome-volume-control https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/314966 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
