[Bug 869535] Re: A window dragged off to another Xinerama display disappears from Window List applet

2011-10-16 Thread Harald Rudell
This seemed to be caused by having multiple Window List. I had an extra
one squeezed down so that it was no longer visible. When I removed
second one, the visible WIndow List worked as expected

[Bug 869535] [NEW] A window dragged off to another Xinerama display disappears from Window List applet

2011-10-06 Thread Harald Rudell
Public bug reported:

I have nVidia, Ubuntu Classic/Gnome and 3 displays

BUG: Today I noticed in gnome-panel 1:2.32.1-0ubuntu6.5 that a window
that is dragged off my center screen disappears from the Window List
applet of that screen. The Window List applet supposedly lists all
windows as buttons so that you can quickly switch in between

Expected: All windows on all Xinerama display's to appear in Window List

[Bug 738458] Re: Gnome won't show screen saver unlock, clock-applet high cpu

2011-09-02 Thread Harald Rudell
Every month or so it occurs (a system, that is never shut down) What I
do is that I ssh in from another box and kill the high-load process. If
I can't find out which one it is (happened once), I restart X.

I think it is related to that I have an nVidia Quadro NVS 450 with three
displays and Ubuntu 11.04 effectively stopped supporting more than one
display. X or GPU gets confused and draws in the wrong rectangle. A
window might update on display 1 but is all black on display 2. This was
all good on 10.10

[Bug 778638] Re: evince-thunbnailer gets permission denied from apparmor (and hangs the system for long periods of time)

2011-05-19 Thread Harald Rudell
Have it, too: natty x64 box uses share from maverick x86

double-click a pdf in Nautilus on nfs-share file: hangs evince,
Nautilus, and any Terminal trying to ls the nfs share

get-around is (as mentioned):
sudo apparmor_parser -R /etc/apparmor.d/usr.bin.evince

[Bug 319108] Re: Memory leak in libgtop

2009-04-19 Thread Harald Rudell
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 307472 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/307472

When the resident size of multiload-applet-2 reached 1.0 GiB on a 2 GiB
memory system, all sorts of things started failing. This is on a desktop
8.10 lvm installation providing various services to other clients such
as apache, svn etc.

* hard drives where on 100% iowait (swapping) leading to frozen-soft resetting
entries in the system log
* my ssh connections became unresponsive after being idle for a few minutes
* the system could no longer be updated from repositories
* usb keyboards stopped working

dpkg -l lists that libgtop2-7 is of version 2.24.0-ubuntu2, which is the
leaking version. A fix need to be submitted to 8.10 for this problem

It seems the only reason that the whole planet does not run into this is
because they either reboot their systems often or do not have the system
monitor active as an applet
