[Bug 1229768] [NEW] weather applet doesn't include Jerusalem location

2013-09-24 Thread Heiko Sieger
Public bug reported:

Number of users affected: 804,000

/usr/share/libgweather/Locations.xml doesn't contain an entry for
Jerusalem, yet there are weather stations in Jerusalem and all
commercial weather websites I know of provide weather updates for
Jerusalem/Israel.

Here the Locations.xml entry for Israel:

None of the other locations in Israel is near Jerusalem, nor does any of
them have the same climate. It seems very odd to see the capital of
Israel missing in gweather - all other countries I checked have an entry
for their capital.

[Bug 128211] Re: openoffice does not start

2007-07-30 Thread Heiko Sieger
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 127944 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/127944

Hi,

Agree with mikeos regarding gl / glx problem. I use the proprietary
Nvidia 100 series driver (for the 8600GT) and it worked fine until
recently. Now when I open the Nvidia X Server Settings dialog and click
on OpenGL settings or OpenGL/GLX Information, the program crashes. This
didn't happen before.

I don't use GL / GLX at the moment (at least I'm not aware about it).

This is in addition to the OpenOffice crashing at splash screen.

My system is Kubuntu Gutsy with latest updates installed.

[Bug 127944] Re: [gutsy]Open Office applications don't start

2007-07-26 Thread Heiko Sieger
Well, the idea to install an old libgtk2.0 wasn't so good after all. It
broke lots of dependencies and I made the mistake to do some upgrades
after that - it practically removed everything one needs. I'll be
installing for the next day or two.

[Bug 127944] Re: [gutsy]Open Office applications don't start

2007-07-26 Thread Heiko Sieger
Well, I just tried the workaround mentioned here:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openoffice.org/+bug/128211

Installed with:
$ sudo dpkg -i libgtk2.0-0_2.10.11-0ubuntu3_i386.deb

dpkg - warning: downgrading libgtk2.0-0 from 2.11.6-1ubuntu1 to 2.10.11-0ubuntu3

dpkg: warning - unable to delete old directory `/etc/gtk-2.0': Directory not
empty

I started ooffice -writer from the terminal and it starts OK, but I got
the following errors on the terminal screen:

$ ooffice -writer

Looks the same as before, but Openoffice DID start. I just checked the
spreadsheet and it works too. Yet, the error message remains. Hope it gives
someone with more insight a little clue.

Confirm the bug on Kubuntu Gutsy. I can hang in a day or two without OO,
and hope to see the issue being fixed. Is there anything I can help?
