[Bug 1977634] Re: Cursor jumps around when reading / editing in the same application window.
Sometimes just copy paste a block of text into the middle of the editable window of an app and the cursor jumps to the end of the screen. RE: [Bug 716542] Re: systems slows/hangs when viewing photos, constant "dimming" action...runs very slow!?
Yes, it still slows & dims the screen ...I'm guessing when it's "working" or trying to "locate" files. Maybe the "search engine" itself is to blame? I do have a lot of data, that I search through plus a few external hard drive units, as well. Any help/suggestions would be appreciated. - AHNauss Thank You in advance for your interest & considerations. > Date: Wed, 1 Jun 2011 16:07:22 + > From: pe...@ubuntu.com > To: call...@hotmail.com > Subject: [Bug 716542] Re: systems slows/hangs when viewing photos, > constant "dimming" action...runs very slow!? > > Thanks for the report, is this still an issue with latest Natty > packages? thanks. > > ** Changed in: nautilus (Ubuntu) >Importance: Undecided => Medium > > ** Changed in: nautilus (Ubuntu) >Status: New => Incomplete > > -- > You received this bug notification because you are a direct subscriber > of the bug. > https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/716542 > > Title: > systems slows/hangs when viewing photos, constant "dimming" > action...runs very slow!? > > Status in “nautilus” package in Ubuntu: > Incomplete > > Bug description: > Binary package hint: nautilus > > I had formatted a hard drive (full space usage) for the latest > system...only to find it can't work with previous versions, has > many episodes where it slows (to a crawl - if I'm lucky) when trying to > view photo "icon"/thumbnails! [Bug 573415] Re: g-s-d uses high disk i/o
This is a continuing problem for me too. Every restart I have to reschedule gnome-settings-daemon to "idle" or it grinds my system to a halt on start-up for minutes on end. In-case it helps someone else, I do the following: $ ps -A|grep gnome-settings-daemon - This will give you it's PID $ ionice -c3 -p 1234 - Substitute 1234 for your PID - Schedules the process 1234 to "idle" (lowest I/O priority) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-settings-daemon in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/573415 Title: g-s-d uses high disk i/o -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
