[Bug 1852183] Re: [X11] copy/paste (clipboard) is broken in Ubuntu 19.10 & 20.04
For the benefit of bystanders who might be using the Clipboard Indicator extension to Gnome, I've switched to CopyQ and been quite happy with the results. I'll know more in the next 2-3 weeks whether this problem persists in my environment when I complete my next expense report. In the meantime, thanks to everyone involved in trying to diagnose and fix this problem. I share many people's frustrations about not getting a version of Mutter that seems to work, especially since it seems beyond me to try to upgrade Mutter independently of the rest of the operating system in order to evaluate the results. [Bug 1242921] [NEW] totem window height depends on mp3 comment field
Public bug reported: If i play a certain mp3-file the height of the totem window can not be adjusted below a very high value. My screen has a height of 1050px and the totem window has at least a height of 1000px. I consider this a bug, since the minimal height of the totem window depends on the length of the comment field of a mp3-file. In the attachment is the tag information for the mp3-file as reported by exiftool. Sadly i have no idea how to write this information to another mp3-file. If you are not able to recreate the bug with the supplied information, i would supply the original mp3-file in private. [Bug 221409] Re: Ubuntu Browse Multiple Files dialog does not recognize capital / uppercase JPG as image
still present on ubuntu 10.04 lucid. specs: nautilus file browser 2.30.1 - not sure if this is used by firefox flash 11.0.1.152 on both firefox 7.0.1 chromium 15.0.874.106 i thought linux didnt depend on file extensions. (i guess it doesnt when running a file, but it does when filtering file displays in the file manager) tried to replicate on xubuntu 11.10, the first time i clicked on button, filter is set to 'ALL FILES' and files can be seen. (but multiple files can't be selected, when they are expected to be selectable holding down shift -works on windows) only single file selectable. clicked cancel tried again. this time filter is set to Images and cant be changed. No more images displayed. same problem. All images have .JPG extension. which is what a lot of cameras are producing. guess workaround is rename. but this won't be as straightforward for other users. xubuntu file manager: thunar 1.2.3 not sure if firefox uses this same problem, only .jpg files are visible. important because photos from different cameras produce .JPG guess another workaround (but not as feasible :) ), ask everyone to only use .jpg as extension. wouldn't it be simpler to just add .JPG to the Images filter in whatever filter the internet browsers are using? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gtk+2.0 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/221409 Title: Ubuntu Browse Multiple Files dialog does not recognize capital / uppercase JPG as image To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gtk+2.0/+bug/221409/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 454301] Re: warning given about disk health due to smart not being enabled
Nice to know that natty also works on eee 701 though. (though without unity) SSD manufacturer's would probably be happy to help linux developers on this, seeing how it affects many of their users. Having SSDs work with ubuntu would also be a factor for buyers in choosing whether to upgrade a system to SSD. Is this really damaging the SSDs? Does the message still appear for newer SSDs? Status on LUCID 10.04, latest updates kernel for it: On an EEE 701 i'm using, (512mb Ram), the message still appears after suspend / hibernate. Which I guess is expected since that's when all the data from RAM is stored on the hard disk. gdu-notification-daemon A hard disk may be failing. One or more hard disks report health problems. Click the icon to get more information. When you click on the icon on panel (with orange exclamation point): 4.0 GB hard disk - ATA Siliconmotion SM223AC in red: DISK IS BEING USED OUTSIDE DESIGN PARAMETERS But usually no message appears (aside from another one that says my battery is defective, which is another story). A testament to how ubuntu / linux uses minimal memory to achieve it's ordinary tasks. Ubuntu/Linux and SSD drive have been introduced to each other for a while. Now they just have to enjoy playing together. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/454301 Title: warning given about disk health due to smart not being enabled -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
