[Bug 1269362] [NEW] menu items are disabled in the unity global menu
Public bug reported: I'm using ubuntu 13.10 x64 and I just installed gimp today using the official repository. When I opened gimp the menu items seemed to be disabled. When using HUD to access the menu items, it works. I can confirm the same problem on ubuntu 12.10 on a Macbook 2,1. It works when mirroring, however. From what I read on the internet, there is no Ubuntu 2D in 12.10, so that work-around will not work any more. I see this has low priority, but this seems fairly fundamental to me, since I know many people who use more than one screen at work. [Bug 519935] Re: unable to eject cd-rom after burning disk
This has been an issue for me for a long time. I get an error, after burning an .iso image, that the disc is unable to eject. If I click cancel, the burning is ruined. If I eject manually, then click cancel, all is good. I do not recall if I ran into this issue in Ubuntu 10.04, but I have run 10.10, 11.04, 11.10, 12.04, AND 12.10 and all have the problem. I run arch linux on my laptop and I have absolutely no problems with brasero. Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus I setup my fstab to mount partition in this order: C-D-F-G. (Using UUID.) When I open Nautilus itself, it shows up as C-D-F-G, which is correct. But when I Open or Save a file, and the File Dialog shows up, the Sort Order is different, example: D-C-G-F. After a reboot, it may become D-G-F-C; or D-F-C-G; and so on. Partitions C and D are SATA HDD. Partitions F and G are PATA HDD. My BIOS is setup to load my SATA HDD first. But Karmic doesn't follow my BIOS setup, instead it follows the cable setup which is PATA first, then SATA. I attached my fstab here as well as 3 screenshots. I have been using Ubuntu for quite some time now, and have a lot of pleasure in doing so. So the problem is that for some pdf's, the rendering of Evince is poor. Characters appear blurry at all scales, and such a thing does not happen when viewed with xpdf. My current version of Evince is 2.26.1, with poppler 0.10.5 (cairo). Most documents work just fine, but this problem is not unique to the pdf I mention here. I had the same issue with VLC. I fixed it by... sudo apt-get remove vlc vlc-nox (obviously totem would go here) Then it told me of the libraries no longer in use... libdc1394-13 libwxgtk2.6-0 libpostproc0d libdvbpsi4 libavformat0d libxosd2 libvlc0 libwxbase2.6-0 libgsm1 libdvdnav4 libiso9660-4 libkadm55 libavcodec0d libmodplug0c2 libtar libvcdinfo0 libmpcdec3 libsdl-image1.2 I just typed sudo apt-get remove And pasted the info above The paste had a line break so it kicked i off early BUT I just ran sudo apt-get install vlc after that and it grabbed the libs and now I have no more static.
