able to conduct the test until I return to my office desktop computer early
in May.

[Bug 454297] Re: drag and drop images or video into subfolder will prevent folder from loading

2009-12-14 Thread Jim Walsh 3
I am using karmic: You are using Ubuntu 9.10 - the Karmic Koala -
released in October 2009 and supported until April 2011.

This bug affects me.

I don't understand the post above, the issue would be low priority for
a backport there since users who follow 6 month cycles are expected to
run karmic now unless it means that there is no reason to fix earlier
versions (let them who don't upgrade eat cake). If it means that, yikes.
It is cold.

Anyway, when can we expect a fix in any version?

2009-12-05 Thread Jim Walsh 3
Dear Dave Walker:

I went to the URL for debug, and followed all of the commands
successfully, until the last one, which seemed to fail.

I went to the Synaptic Package Manager and was told Yelp is installed in
my computer.

I don't understand what I should do and when. In other words, I am not
sufficiently skillful to do more than I am doing.

[Bug 488205] [NEW] without any rhyme or reason, nautilus sometimes (not always) hangs when ask to display the contents of a folder containing JPEGs

2009-11-25 Thread Jim Walsh 3
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

I open a folder with JPGs and they display appropriately and quickly.

A few moments later I try to open the same folder, I get a spinning ball
that never ends.

I try later, I get contents but non-graphically.

I try later, it works appropriately.

I can't find any commonality. The number of files in the folder is not
important. The size of the JPG files is not important.
