[Bug 1573447] Re: large jpeg file crashes Eye of Gnome

2016-06-19 Thread Jose Gómez
Note, though that in my case I don't see any error if I launch it in a
terminal. The system halts for a few seconds while loading the file, and
then eog just crashes. It doesn't give me the chance to send an error
report.

[Bug 1159277] Re: Samsung galaxy s2, unable to open MTP device

2016-03-27 Thread Jose Gómez
Same issue with a Jiayu S2 phone and a Samsung Galaxy J5. If I leave
either of the phones connected I can get 100 message boxes popping up.
Thanks for the notification, I heard the first time. Funny thing is that
the phone actually mounts and I can transfer files just fine, but the
popups are annoying. Using Ubuntu 16.04.

[Bug 1446276] [NEW] Suspend not available in Cinnamon after upgrade to Ubuntu 15.04

2015-04-20 Thread Jose Gómez
Public bug reported:

After the upgrade to Ubuntu 15.04, the suspend option is not available
in Cinnamon.

The Cinnamon team states that some Systemd library may be missing in
Ubuntu: https://github.com/linuxmint/Cinnamon/issues/4060

I have tried to boot using Upstart (using advanced boot) and the suspend
option is not available either, so there may be a separate issue
affecting Upstart.

[Bug 1404393] [NEW] Slowdown loading a Pdf file

2014-12-19 Thread Jose Gómez
Public bug reported:

Evince freezes while loading the second page onwars of this document:
http://www.hotmobile.org/2012/papers/HotMobile12-final72.pdf

With an earlier version of evince, this document used to crash evince
and use a substantial amount of CPU and RAM
(https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evince/+bug/1129430), but
that issue seems to be (at least partially) solved now. There is no
crash now, just the slowdown.

For reference, the same slowdown is happening with Okular (0.20.0).

[Bug 1129430] [NEW] evince crashes while reading pdf file

2013-02-18 Thread Jose Gómez
Public bug reported:

When opening this pdf file, the first two pages are displayed correctly.
However, once I scroll down to the third page, a loading message will
appear indefinitely, and eventually evince crashes.

During that time, I can see in top that evince is using a substantial
amount of CPU and RAM:

PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEMTIME+ COMMAND
30422 adler 20 0 686m 65m 17m S 103.8 2.3 1:19.41 evince

The file where I have found the problem is
http://www.hotmobile.org/2012/papers/HotMobile12-final72.pdf

And can be opened perfectly by Adobe Acrobat Reader, and by Google Docs.

[Bug 903933] [NEW] Cannot select and copy text in a postscript file

2011-12-13 Thread Jose Gómez
Public bug reported:

I cannot select and copy text from a text postscript file. One of the
files that I have used to test:

http://www.isle.org/~langley/papers/adapt.um99.ps

With pdfs, select text + copy is working fine.

After converting this ps file to pdf using ps2pdf, I can select and copy
the text when opening the converted pdf file in evince. But not from the
original ps file.

I have just had this error while opening some pdf files from Firefox.
One of them (http://www.docv.gva.es/datos/2010/09/06/pdf/2010_9553.pdf)
