Hello, Ive realized something, this behavior only occurs when I'm using a second monitor, if I alt tab with only 1 monitor then alt tab works as intended, but when using a second monitor then all the windows of the app that are in the second monitor are displayed with Alt+tab. [Bug 1823793] [NEW] Font scaling not working on gnome startup
Public bug reported: The font text scaling setting is not being loaded on gnome startup. I have font text scaling set to 1.25. After updating mutter to package version 3.32.0-1ubuntu1 the text scaling setting is not loaded any more when starting gnome. Steps to reproduce the issue: 1) Set your font scaling factor to something other than the default '1'. This can be set, for example, either by using "Gnome tweaks" or with gsettings: settings set org.gnome.desktop.interface text-scaling-factor 1.25 2) You'll see that the top bar text gets larger. 3) Log out and log in. You'll see that the top bar text and text in general has been reset to the default '1'. The setting is still set to '1.25', but visually it's '1'. If you set the value to something else, it gets applied correctly, until you log out. This worked as expected on package version 3.32.0-1. [Bug 1807276] Re: Cannot swipe up from bottom of screen to get Onscreen Keyboard in Xorg
It may be worth mentioning that we are unable to reproduce the error on some more esoteric models like rugged machines. One theory is that Xorg/GNOME may have different thresholds than Wayland for detecting the swipe-up gesture and this may be impacted by the particulars of how displays report touch information FAIL: Precision 5530 - Max "ABS_Y" value from evtest is 7743 (the highest Y-value for touch observed in testing) - Note 7743 doesn't seem to have an obvious relationship with the screen resolution, if that is significant - Hardware = "Wacom HID 486A Finger" PASS: Rugged mobile (different touch hardware) - Max Y "ABS_Y" value in evtest is 3840 - this is the same value as the vertical screen resolution - Hardware = "Atmel maxTouch Digitizer" - No issues on X or Wayland triggering the OSK -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1807276 Title: Cannot swipe up from bottom of screen to get Onscreen Keyboard in Xorg To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1807276/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1035701] Re: grilo plugins should be enabled in Totem
The point is that the misbehaving could be in either the grilo plugins, or in totem itself. So if the problem is in Totem, and you remove plugins from the system, then other applications that work fine with such plugins won't have the opportunity to use them. On the other hand, such bugs could be already fixed in recent versions. Are those problems specific to Ubuntu? Any idea if they are present also in Debian? Regarding the last paragraph, Grilo and plparser use mainly two libraries for the work: GData, that provides access to the Youtube API, and libquvi, that helps to get the real URL for further displaying. The changes that YouTube does are mainly about the later. So it totally depends on the libquvi version you have in the system. In general libquvi is pretty updated, so if you keep in sync with the latest releases very likely everthing will work fine. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to totem in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1035701 Title: grilo plugins should be enabled in Totem To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/hundredpapercuts/+bug/1035701/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 1035701] Re: grilo plugins should be enabled in Totem
Florian: I don't think rhythmbox is filtering the bad plugins, though any maintainer can confirm it. I think they just filter out those plugins not interesting for rhythmbox, maybe because there's another plugin in rhythmbox already providing such content, or just because the the content provided is of no interest (like plugins providing video, when we are interested on audio, something that have changed in upstream, as you have noticed). So if a plugin works bad, I think the proper solution is to fix a bug for it, and if it's very urgent, maybe removing the plugin. Using a blacklist isn't a good idea.
Also, if something is working bad, it doesn't mean that the problem is in the grilo plugins. Note that Totem and in Rythmbox also have use Grilo through a totem-grilo or rhythmbox-grilo plugin. So the problem can be there. Grilo provides a test-ui that is useful to check if the problem is in Grilo itself or in the application using it (totem/rhythmbox-plugin).

[Bug 703302] Re: Toshiba Laptop battery not being detected
Hi everyone. First of all, my computer is a Toshiba Satellite L750 with Windows 7 and Ununtu 10.04 (up to date). I followed the steps described by tuxsage and it works fine, but only with ubuntu 10.04. After some tries with some linux distributions I understand that it is a problem of the kernel, as it is common for all the distributions I tried on this laptop (I don't know if this affects to other models) I also tried this solution using Debian 6.0.4 and the result was that the kernel detects the battery but when it is not connected to AC power the brightness goes down so it is impossible to see the screen and there is no way to increase it. I need to restart the computer after that. Ubuntu 10.04 works fine with the solution provided by Tuxsage but when I put the system in suspend mode, I cannot restart it. The keyboard is blocked and there is no way of knowing what is happening. The worst of it is that linux users have to words like Tuxage says: The cause of issue is because Toshiba included two sets of boot data that tell the OS what hardware exists in the machine. Windows reads the correct one whereas Linux doesn’t. This is a message to all the people working in the kernel of linux. How is is possible that kwnowing the source of the problem this issue is not solved yet? Please, forgive me if I am so severe with my words, but if we want to win the market share against other operatin systems this kind of issues need to be solved as soon as possible (reported several years ago, please correct me if I am wrong). The user should be able to install any distribution of linux whit no aesthetic issues like this one. Linux shoul be (as far as possible) install and use it. I am at your dispossal for any help, but I am a common user, no thecnical skill. I hope that my comment helps linux to be stronger.
