[Bug 1180513] Re: lid close actions are ignored laptop always suspends

2013-11-08 Thread Julien-Charles Lévesque
I updated some things from saucy-proposed for another bug and the
behavior disappeared. I updated the following packages :

gnome-control-center
gnome-control-center-data
libindicator7

My guess as to which one fixed it would be gnome-control-center ;)

[Bug 1218322] Re: Can't set keyboard layout change to alt+shift, ctrl+shift, etc.

2013-10-24 Thread Julien-Charles Lévesque
However, I left the default shortcut to "Switch to previous source"
(Shift+Super+Space).. I tested it and it doesn't work, no matter the
order in which I press the keys.

2013-10-24 Thread Julien-Charles Lévesque
Updated gnome-control-center and gnome-control-center-data from saucy-
proposed. Logged out, back in. It works now, I was able to set short-cut
to Left Ctrl+Shift and it switches properly.

Thanks!

[Bug 1180513] Re: lid close actions are ignored laptop always suspends

2013-10-11 Thread Julien-Charles Lévesque
I have gnome-settings-daemon version 3.8.5-0ubuntu7 installed and my
settings are being ignored. Laptop (plugged-in) suspends when lid is
closed even though I set it to not suspend.

[Bug 1066395] [NEW] Nautilus (list view) column widths change dynamically on alt-tab, lags on large folders

2012-10-13 Thread Julien-Charles Lévesque
Public bug reported:

The problem seems to be that nautilus re-parses the list of files in a
folder after an alt-tab to resize dynamically the column widths, e.g.,
the name column will be made wider if there is a file with a very large
name. What happens is that if you have a large folder, upon a window
redraw (with alt-tab for example), the column width for 'Name' is set to
a small value, and then increases when a larger file name is found. This
produces a weird effect with the columns changing sizes multiple times -
not particularly nice, and I believe will be much more problematic on
very large folders. Isn't there some way of caching the previously
computed value on this same folder and only refreshing it once, thus
making it invisible to the user?

Running updated Ubuntu 12.10 64 bits, nautilus package version
1:3.5.90.really.3.4.2-0ubuntu4

I witnessed this in a folder containing only 71 files. There was a file
with a considerably longer file name at the end of the folder (e.g.
twice as long, 31 characters vs 15 characters in the first files)

[Bug 993310] [NEW] Tearing/blinking text while scrolling

2012-05-02 Thread Julien-Charles Lévesque
Public bug reported:

This is new stuff since upgrade to 12.04 from 11.10 (gedit version
3.4.1).

When I scroll text in gedit, the text appears to blink as I scroll
generating an unpleasant effect, a bit dazzling.

If the window is unactive and I scroll the text, I don't get this
behavior.

It is almost as if the window was being redrawn twice everytime I
scroll, once as a white square, once with the new text.

What could be the cause for this?

Other apps don't seem to have this problem.

In fact, the mp3s are just copied over to the mp3 player, it's because
the files in my library did not have the .mp3 ending. Does rhythmbox
remove the .mp3 ending while importing or ...? Why?

[Bug 668475] [NEW] Blank or white space appears when changing keyboard layouts

2010-10-29 Thread Julien-Charles Lévesque
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-panel

Hi,

I am running Ubuntu 10.10 x64, and my gnome-panel becomes glitched when
I switch keyboard layouts to a layout whose name is shorter than the
previous one (well, I believe so)...

First attached file is a screenshot of my panel when I am using the USA
layout, no glitch.

Second attached file is the same panel after switching layout to Can
layout, using the keyboard shortcut. Nothing else. Didn't touch the
panel in any other way.
