Same here. The size option from preferences is gone. Had to modify the
config [1] manually.

Hi Sebastien,

I've unlocked my version and updated to the latest available
(1:2.30.1-0ubuntu1). It seems to be working fine now. The packages that
are tied to libgnome-window-settings1 are:

capplets-data
gnome-control-center

Perhaps there was something wrong with them. Anyway, it appears to be
fixed.

As confirmed by others, this bug is still present in Lucid Lynx as of 8th May 
2010. It has been broken since Karmic.

Binary package hint: gnome-control-center

Problem:
After updating the below package on 5th May 2010, compiz performance dropped 
significantly (often going up to 70-80% of CPU while moving a window).

Solution:
Downgrading to the previous version fixed the problem
aptitude install libgnome-window-settings1=1:2.30.0-0ubuntu4
