[Bug 457970] [NEW] epiphany-webkit tries to open pdf in okular (which fails) instead of default pdf viewer

2009-10-22 Thread Keywan Najafi Tonekaboni
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: epiphany-webkit

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open a website with links to PDF (e.g.
http://twitter.com/lcuk/statuses/5007265408)
2. Click on the link to download or view the PDF
(http://wouwlabs.com/blogs/jeez/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/presentation_pov.pdf)

Expected outcome

Depend on the settings
a. It opens automatically the in nautilus defined default view for PDF and load
the document
or
b. It opens a dialog and ask where to save or for which program should be used
to open the file.

Actual outcome

It opens Okular which reports: Error - Could not open file:///tmp/WKPR4KR2U
Indeed, I couldn't find a file WKPR4KR2U neither in /tmp or ~/.gnome2/epiphany

Additional comment:

If I open a PDF with nautilus, then the file opens in evince. I couldn't
figure out any other place (e.g. update-alternatives)

It doesn't matter, if I turn on or off automatic downloads. It always
open Okular.

I change this to New, because the issue is not yet fixed. I have this
problem still under Intrepid Ibex. I don't use any visuall effects. I
don't believe a clean new install is a fix.

[Bug 295345] [NEW] Evolution picks up wrong sender

2008-11-07 Thread Keywan Najafi Tonekaboni
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

I had two accounts set up. A local one ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) and my
personal mail as an IMAP Account. My personal mail address is my
default. When I reply to a mail in the local account, Evolution set the
default address as sender and not the correct one from the used local
account. I replied to the mail from a real local folder, not a search

[Bug 295345] Re: Evolution picks up wrong sender

2008-11-07 Thread Keywan Najafi Tonekaboni
Yes, it is reproducible.

1. Read an mail in the [EMAIL PROTECTED] account, which is not the default
account.
2. Click on Reply

What happened: The sender is [EMAIL PROTECTED], which is set as a
sender in the default account account.

What do I expect: The sender should be the one from the account I
actually use to read this mail.

It is reproducible also, when I change the default account.

I have one POP Account (lists), one IMAP account (default) and a local
account for mails from my ubuntu system (mails for root, from cron etc).

I hope this information helps. Thank you for taking care.

[Bug 294797] [NEW] Search folder didn't work with IMAP

I have an saved Search Folder which worked under Hardy fine. Since the
upgrade to 8.10 the search folder didn't match to mails in the IMAP

Yes, the problem still exist. I have found something else out:

restored gnome-terminal windows didn't blink, after I logged in. But
when I switch the workspace they start to blink.

No, I didn't use any fancy Compiz/xgl stuff. Just good old 2d metacity.

[Bug 41801] eject icon in the on-screen display is missing

2006-10-27 Thread Keywan Najafi Tonekaboni
Public bug reported:

since a few weeks the eject-icon is missing. I am using ubuntu dapper on
a ibook G4. When I press Fn+F12 (which means eject) a nice OSD pops-up
showing me an icon. Since a while this icon is missing and the gnome-
mime-application-x-reject.png is showed. I think this icon is missing
(removed or renamed). I upgrade very much. I use theme clearlooks, but
have this problem also with theme Human.

I have no idea which package handle the osd, because pbbuttonsd is not
running, hotkeys not installed and hotkey-setup not available for
powerpc. Maybe this is a problem in gnome-icon-theme and similiar theme
packages.

[Bug 60156] Re: migrate imap4 accounts automatically to imap

2006-09-18 Thread Keywan Najafi Tonekaboni
This is the folder structure of my IMAP Server (cyrus too)

INBOX
+Foo
+Bar
+Bla
++Bla
sys
+adm
teaching
+courses
projects
+a
+b
general
+fun

etc.pp.

With the IMAP protocoll you have only access to one of them. (e.g.
INBOX+sys), but not to all. You can't subscribe to the other folders.
With IMAP4v1 you can give the namespace . and then you can subscribe
to every folder you like.

[Bug 60156] Re: migrate imap4 accounts automatically to imap

2006-09-13 Thread Keywan Najafi Tonekaboni
Maybe migration was not the correct word. I just thought about to change
the settings from imap4v1 to imap automatically. I just change this and
everything was ok.

But I don't have strong feelings about this.

[Bug 60027] minimum font size is used as default font size

2006-09-12 Thread Keywan Najafi Tonekaboni
Public bug reported:

Hi,

I have the problem with edgy, that it seems epiphany use the minimum
font size instead of default font size. a lot of webpages have now
really small fonts, e.g. Google. I setup 11pt and 12pt for variable and
fixed width and 7pt for minimum size. but weppages who didn't setup font
width are rendered with a font of 7pt.

I didn't had this problem with dapper

[Bug 49817] Re: taskbar blinks after restoring session

2006-08-01 Thread Keywan Najafi Tonekaboni
I don't from where you have these newer packages. I ran apt-get update
and dist-upgrade and everything seems to be the newest.

I couldn't find newer packages on this websites, too

http://packages.ubuntu.com/dapper/gnome/gnome-panel
http://packages.ubuntu.com/dapper/gnome/gnome-session

Did you follow my instructions? Could you reproduce this bug?

[Bug 49817] Re: taskbar blinks after restoring session

2006-08-01 Thread Keywan Najafi Tonekaboni
Sorry, you are right. dapper-updates was not in my sources.list.

But the problem still exist. It didn't appear Sorry, you are right.
dapper-updates was not in my sources.list.

But the problem still exist. It didn't appear when you click on
epiphany, before the websites from the restored windows are reloaded.
So, if you want try out this, I suggest these following steps:

1. Open different Epiphany windows with remote URLs
2. Open a few gnome-terminal windows
3. Put them on different workspaces/virtual desktops
4. Make sure your session will be saved, when you logout from GNOME
5. Logout
6. Login, but do not react (don't use mouse and keyboard) until everything is
restored and your GNOME is completely loaded

Does any taskbar item blink?

I guess we have here two cool features:
- restore session
- got users attention with blinking taskbar items on new windows or new content
in existing windows (e.g. a website is loaded epiphany)

But the combination of this features is annoying. Maybe it's not easy to
fix, even though it is a small problem. gnome-session should report
the apps, that they are restored, so they didn't blink or something..

[Bug 49817] Re: taskbar blinks after restoring session

2006-07-31 Thread Keywan Najafi Tonekaboni
When I log out from the gnome desktop my session will be saved. When I
log in to gnome later again all windows of supported apps will be
reopened. e.g. browser windows, IM-app, gnome-terminal windows, abiword
(unfortunetaly just with a new file instead of the document when I
logged out)

Since their is cairo support there is a new feature in the taskbar
(fensterliste in german, the panel item, where the opened windows are
shown). It blinks when a new window opened and you don't have the focus
on the new window. it's some kind of information: Hey User, here is a
new window, please pay attantion

This feature is useless, when I log in to gnome and my saved session is
restored. I have a bunch of new windows and they all want the
attantion: they blink.

I couldn't describe the term blink better, but It changes (fades) the
background-colorof the item from bright to dark and back to bright. it
is an animation and really annoying after a while. but this is the
intention of the animation, because you should pay attention to the new
window...

I hope this is enough information. it isn't nice to just reject the bug instead
of asking for more information.

don't hesitate to ask me, if you need more information.

Public bug reported:

If I write a mail to a new recipient (which is not in one of my
addressbooks) evolution should add this new address to one of my

2006-04-27 Thread Keywan Najafi Tonekaboni
I would agree, but I have not a full overview about the malone philosophy.

First I was not sure which package is responsible and then I didn't know, that
you can add more than one product/package to one bug.

At the moment gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly is added as affected and bug #30864 is
already marked as duplicate of #35685.

However, I hope somebody fix this showstopper in dapper LTS ;)

package is the correct for the bug report and was discouraged by the
feedback or the missing feedback. I was afraid this bug will forgotten
because nobody seems to want responsible or had an idea. (Tiago tried
hard to fix it and I want to thank him very much for his effort, but the
bug still exist).

The bug still exist with gstreamer0.10 and I made the same mistake to
report them there as well.

But the serpentine developer/maintainer want close the bug, because he
said his app isn't responsible and he couldn't repoduce the bug. I can
reproduce the bug on another ibook with breezy.

I am totally confused. Who will work on this, because it's really a
showstopper for ubuntu on ibooks...

Sorry, I didn't finished my posting and sent it accidently.

I think this behavior is definitely a bug. I couldn't burn cd's with
serpentine ;)

How we could find out, who is responsible for this behavior. What do the
gstreamer-people say?

Regards,

Keywan

Maybe an unmet dependency is the problem..

Unfortunetly i couldn't install serpentine in this version. I still have
installed Breezy and need it for productive work. There are too much
dependencies to install serpentine in this version. But thanks for your
efforts. If I finisched my tests at the end of februar, I will
reorganize my harddisk, to have space for an experimental ubuntu
installation
