[Bug 457970] [NEW] epiphany-webkit tries to open pdf in okular (which fails) instead of default pdf viewer
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: epiphany-webkit Steps to reproduce: 1. Open a website with links to PDF (e.g. http://twitter.com/lcuk/statuses/5007265408) 2. Click on the link to download or view the PDF (http://wouwlabs.com/blogs/jeez/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/presentation_pov.pdf) Expected outcome Depend on the settings a. It opens automatically the in nautilus defined default view for PDF and load the document or b. It opens a dialog and ask where to save or for which program should be used to open the file. Actual outcome It opens Okular which reports: Error - Could not open file:///tmp/WKPR4KR2U Indeed, I couldn't find a file WKPR4KR2U neither in /tmp or ~/.gnome2/epiphany Additional comment: If I open a PDF with nautilus, then the file opens in evince. I couldn't figure out any other place (e.g. update-alternatives) It doesn't matter, if I turn on or off automatic downloads. It always open Okular. [Bug 295345] Re: Evolution picks up wrong sender
Yes, it is reproducible. 1. Read an mail in the [EMAIL PROTECTED] account, which is not the default account. 2. Click on Reply What happened: The sender is [EMAIL PROTECTED], which is set as a sender in the default account account. What do I expect: The sender should be the one from the account I actually use to read this mail. It is reproducible also, when I change the default account. I have one POP Account (lists), one IMAP account (default) and a local account for mails from my ubuntu system (mails for root, from cron etc). I hope this information helps. Sorry, you are right. dapper-updates was not in my sources.list. But the problem still exist. It didn't appear Sorry, you are right. dapper-updates was not in my sources.list. But the problem still exist. It didn't appear when you click on epiphany, before the websites from the restored windows are reloaded. So, if you want try out this, I suggest these following steps: 1. Open different Epiphany windows with remote URLs 2. Open a few gnome-terminal windows 3. Put them on different workspaces/virtual desktops 4. Make sure your session will be saved, when you logout from GNOME 5. Logout 6. Login, but do not react (don't use mouse and keyboard) until everything is restored and your GNOME is completely loaded Does any taskbar item blink? I guess we have here two cool features: - restore session - got users attention with blinking taskbar items on new windows or new content in existing windows (e.g. a website is loaded epiphany) But the combination of this features is annoying. Maybe it's not easy to fix, even though it is a small problem. gnome-session should report the apps, that they are restored, so they didn't blink or something.. -- taskbar blinks after restoring session https://launchpad.net/bugs/49817 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 49817] Re: taskbar blinks after restoring session
When I log out from the gnome desktop my session will be saved. When I log in to gnome later again all windows of supported apps will be reopened. e.g. browser windows, IM-app, gnome-terminal windows, abiword (unfortunetaly just with a new file instead of the document when I logged out) Since their is cairo support there is a new feature in the taskbar (fensterliste in german, the panel item, where the opened windows are shown). It blinks when a new window opened and you don't have the focus on the new window. it's some kind of information: Hey User, here is a new window, please pay attantion This feature is useless, when I log in to gnome and my saved session is restored. I have a bunch of new windows and they all want the attantion: they blink. I couldn't describe the term blink better, but It changes (fades) the background-colorof the item from bright to dark and back to bright. it is an animation and really annoying after a while. but this is the intention of the animation, because you should pay attention to the new window... I hope this is enough information. it isn't nice to just reject the bug instead of asking for more information. don't hesitate to ask me, if you need more information. ** Changed in: gnome-session (Ubuntu) Status: Rejected = Unconfirmed -- taskbar blinks after restoring session https://launchpad.net/bugs/49817 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

I would agree, but I have not a full overview about the malone philosophy. First I was not sure which package is responsible and then I didn't know, that you can add more than one product/package to one bug.
