2022-02-23 Thread Leonard M Struttmann
I am also affected by this bug. Running 20.04.3 LTS on a SAGER laptop.

System hangs. Sometimes I can recover by switching to another window,
but most times I need to reboot.

After reboot syslog is full of:

gnome-shell[1979]: Window manager warning: Overwriting existing binding
of keysym 36 with keysym 36 (keycode f).

[Bug 1882659] Re: Night Light schedule on Dual Screens does not turn off on primary screen

2020-06-16 Thread Leonard Peris
I just updated to the 5.4.0-37-generic kernel and the issue seems to
have fixed itself. It turns of automatically across both screens at
sunrise as per sunrise-sunset schedule

I believe it may have been a regression that was introduced in
5.4.0-33-generic and then later fixed.

P.S. Do let me know what command i should run so that I may update the
bug report with details of my system after it has been updated to
5.4.0-37-generic kernel.

[Bug 1730568] [NEW] gnome-shell crashes when indicator-multiload starts: gtk_icon_info_load_icon_finish: assertion failed: (icon_info_get_pixbuf_ready (icon_info))

2017-11-06 Thread David Leonard
Public bug reported:

Description:Ubuntu 17.10
Release:17.10

gnome-shell 3.26.1-0ubuntu5 amd64
indicator-multiload 0.4-0ubuntu5 amd64

I logged in (gdm3/wayland), tapped Meta, started typing "load" and
selected "System Load Indicator" expecting to see a system load
indicator appear.

Instead, the session immediately exits and I am back at the gdm login screen.
Logging in again is then not possible (any new gnome session immediately exits)
until I SSH in and delete the file

Debug:

I uncommented Enable=true under [debug] in /etc/gdm3/custom.conf, logged
in again, and reproduced from gnome-terminal by running "indicator-
multiload". I captured the following from journalctl:

Not sure why it builds in Debian but not Ubuntu. If you need a quick
fix, adding a build-dependency on libsha-ocaml-dev should cause it to
use that instead of openssl (the build log says "sha (ocaml-sha) not
found; using OpenSSL instead").

[Bug 1332731] [NEW] Nautilus' Email... context menu is confusing.

2014-06-20 Thread Rey Leonard Amorato
Public bug reported:

I have been using Ubuntu for quite sometime and I've always seen the
context menu Send to... where a dialog pops up showing all the places
I could send my file to. But, after upgrading to 14.04, I noticed that
the context menu had changed and it now has Email... in its place.

I don't use that menu much but it is annoying and confusing. If I were
to send a file to a contact from empathy, I wouldn't be emailing it, I
would just be sending it.

[Bug 1074631] [NEW] Minimum brightness via slider turns backlight off [12.10][HP-Compq-6710b]

2012-11-03 Thread Leonard Peris
Public bug reported:

Adjusting the slider all the way down to minimum turns the backlight
off.

The range of the slider currently is from (backlight turned-off) to
(maximum back-light brightness). Expected behavior is to have slider
range from (minimum acceptable brightness) to (maximum brightness).

This behavior was not present in 12.04precise. In precise, at minimum
brightness setting, the backlight remains on.

[Bug 587248] [NEW] rsvg crashes rending a trivial file

2010-05-29 Thread Thomas Leonard
Public bug reported:

$ cat svg.py
import gtk
loader = gtk.gdk.PixbufLoader('svg')
loader.write('style type=text/css /style')

$ python svg.py
zsh: segmentation fault python svg.py

Tested on 64-bit and 32-bit Lucid.

This is a simplified test-case. The original was an HTML error page.

I haven't investigated whether this is a security issue.

[Bug 555315] [NEW] CPU Scaling does not work when AC adapter is plugged in

Public bug reported:

[Bug 462835] [NEW] evince does not show the printing option Staple

2009-10-28 Thread Leonard Michlmayr
Public bug reported:

This is related to CUPS.
I really don't understand why, but evince does not show the Staple option in

option. The PPD contains a UI with the name Staple that allows the selection of
a position for staples.

[Bug 109446] Re: Need /proc/acpi/wakeup tweaks to enable mousepad and USB to wake up from suspend

2009-07-02 Thread Jud Leonard
My 2 cents --
I just installed Jaunty on an old Athlon, and I've spent the afternoon trying
to figure out why it wouldn't wake up for the keyboard or mouse. All my Macs
and PCs do. Maybe there should be an option for those whose cats wander, but
the default should be to wake on mouse or keyboard activity.

[Bug 392091] [NEW] evince shows shadings only on 25% of the page

2009-06-25 Thread Leonard Michlmayr
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evince

I made a drawing with inkskape and exported it as PDF via cairo. The
alpha gradient fillings of boxes will not be displayed correctly in
evince. Printing works without any problem.

See for example the attached file. If I display it in evince with 100%
zoom, the shaded area will be clipped. If I zoom in, it will be worse.
If I zoom out to 50%, everything will be displayed as expected (except
for the bad quality of the shading). Compare the screenshot.

[Bug 389414] [NEW] evolution calendar does not handle time zones

2009-06-19 Thread Leonard Michlmayr
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

When adding a new event to the calendar I cannot specify a time zone for
the start and end times. In most cases it is fine to ignore the time
zones and use the local time zone of the place where you will be at that
time. Evolution calender, however, will not let you set an event that
ends before it starts either. Suppose you plan to take flight JL018
which departs from Tokyo at 18:05 and arrives in Vancouver at 10:45 of
the same day (i.e. 5 hours and 20 minutes before departure), you will
not be able to add that flight to evolution calendar.

[Bug 366471] Re: Calendar closed unexpectedly

2009-04-28 Thread Leonard Michlmayr
I am experiencing a similar problem:
As soon as calendar tries to get appointments from the google calendars it will
quit. The calendar window is still visible but it will not show any
appointments (not even from the local calendar). If I close evolution and
restart it, I will be able to use the local calendars as long as I don't
activate the google calendars.

This is a new problem. Last week (Jaunty release candidate) google
calendar worked fine.

not assume a failed authentication when it does not reach the server. It

+ 1) add a google calendar to your evolution calendars so that the entries of
the google calendar will be displayed in evolution.
+ 2) close evolution
+ 3) diconnect from the internet
+ 4) start evolution calendar
+

[Bug 357732] [NEW] evince shifts up print since upgrade to jaunty

2009-04-08 Thread Leonard Michlmayr
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evince

Since the upgrade to jauny beta, I experience that evince would shift a
document up when printing. It is reproducable.
I print in A4 on a Canon IR3170Ci.

The printed output is translated up. The upper part of the contents in

Re: [Bug 274407] Re: focus does not follow mouse during drag-and-drop

2009-01-29 Thread Leonard Michlmayr
Hi Michele

Thank you for your reply.

I can confirm this issue, although I'm not sure that this is bug belongs
to compiz. I suppose that you are using gnome with metacity. And I'm
moving this report to metacity package.

I am pretty sure that I am not using metacity. (ps axu | grep -i
metacity) gtk-window-decorator mimics metacity window decorations and
uses metacity themes, though.

I don't know weather this is a compiz issue or a general issue of gnome
dragdrop. I imagine that the window manager does not get/understand the
enter event, when the mouse button is pressed.

Thanks for your sympathies.

[Bug 132216] Re: invest-applet crashed with KeyError in populate()

It's happening to me now in Hardy/x86_64.

Re-entering with tickers in uppercase fixes the problem. It's such an
easy fix, for a 9-month old bug.

On a side note, it's a pain in the ass to enter data in this applet -
why must I double-click into every field, rather than being able to tab
through or otherwise navigate? Entering 15 positions is insanely
tedious.

[Bug 10669] Re: Filters are not applied to new mail on Exchange

2007-10-24 Thread Thomas Leonard
Same problem here (after upgrading to Gutsy) with evolution-exchange
2.12.0-0ubuntu1.

Combined with the other new-in-gutsy bug which prevents disabling
notification of new mail, this means I get a notification balloon and a
flashing mail icon appearing every 30 seconds or so throughout the day
to announce the latest spam arrivals :-(

The Check new messages for Junk contents and Apply filters to new
messages in Inbox on this server options are both turned on.
