[Bug 1391863] [NEW] horizontal accuracy meters keeps getting higher
Public bug reported: Hi, in apps and with espoo-cli, I've noticed that the horizontal accuracy (in meters) keeps climbing; I had seen this on cell in the past, but it's particularly visible on wifi. Symptom is that your position is very accurate, but the circle around it is very large, and keeps getting larger. I suspect this is due to the timestamps of known wifi / cell getting older when reported to HERE. [Bug 1389874] Re: Location detection is not working
Adding a sleep 15 before slpgwd exec has helped at least Alexander get a position more reliably. HERE debug on some affected phones shows a general error being reported. I've run a connectivity upstart job with start on started dbus to start it in similar conditions; it did show a problematic pattern: it only gets GSM information, and no cell information. As soon as it's restarted, it correctly gets wifi information too. This might be an explanation for lack of HERE location. I'll debug this further, and also try running the HERE debug binaries to try to find out more about the underlying cause. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to location-service in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1389874 Title: Location detection is not working To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/location-service/+bug/1389874/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 1390490] [NEW] Race between connectivity-api and network-manager
Public bug reported: Hi, https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/location-service/+bug/1389874 was a symptom for an issue with connectivity API which doesn't work when it starts before network-manager is started or when leaving airplane mode. so first, the GPS download warning is indeed just a warning; the GPS provider currently only works standalone, there's a bug preventing it to work with the HERE location provider (Espoo). [Bug 1367836] [NEW] ubuntu-location-serviced crashed with SIGABRT in raise()
Public bug reported: Hi, while testing location-service in utopic-proposed on mako, I've reproduced the exact same setup as in bug #1367835, but disabled the GPS provider to avoid the error described in this bug: 1) change: export HERE_IMEI_FRAGMENT=$Serial to: export HERE_IMEI_FRAGMENT=35513605 in /etc/init/ubuntu-location-provider-here-posclientd.conf to help the service come up on boot (see bug #1367244), not sure it helps though. 2) change exec /usr/bin/ubuntu-location-serviced --bus system --provider $provider $poptions to: exec /usr/bin/ubuntu-location-serviced --bus system --provider remote::Provider --remote::Provider::name=com.ubuntu.espoo.Service.Provider --remote::Provider::path=/com/ubuntu/espoo/Service/Provider in /etc/init/ubuntu-location-service.override. I also manually started the trust store with start ubuntu-location- service-trust-stored. While accessing location from OSMTouch app, I've got this crash. Are you upgrading with aptitude? I got the same issue upgrading because a trigger was activated while upgrading python2.6/python2.6-minimal; the python2.6 updates were moving shutil across packages. python2.6 correctly depends on python2.6-minimal (= ${binary:Version}), yet python2.6 was unpacked before python2.6-minimal. [Bug 510354] Re: package libpango1.0-0 should at most recommend libthai0, but not depend on it
Rolf, Ubuntu binaries are not ready for an embedded use case where the space saving issue would really make a difference. However we do care to have support for Thai out of the box -- especially if it's so cheap in terms of space to get. I think a bettter argument against the libthai dep is the recent security issue; I argued the case in the Debian bug report. I still believe it's wishlist and this is the tree hiding the forest; you wouldn't had noticed if the code was maintained in pango itself (as it is for other languages), and I believe using a separate library is actually a good thing (as the security update shows -- we didn't have to roll an update of pango and other embedded code copies, updating libthai was enough). So let me summarise how these icons are used and what we expect: - gnome-display-properties: used in display-properties.desktop for the menu entry and the gnome-display-properties binary for the notification area, expected to be colourful when used in application lists, - display-capplet: no idea where this is used - gsd-xrandr: used in gnome-settings-daemon's libxrandr.so plugin for the notification bubble So the expectations for each icon as I see them: - gnome-display-properties: colourful when size 48, grey scales when size 48 - display-capplet: no idea - gsd-xrandr: I'd guess grey scales all the time What's in lp:humanity right now: - gnome-display-properties: always a real file, colourful at size 24 and 48, only in Humanity - display-capplet: symlink to gnome-display-properties at size 24 and 48, only in Humanity - gsd-xrandr: real file at size 22 and 24, and at size 48 in Humanity-Dark, symlink to display-capplet at size 48 in Humanity, colourful at size 48, grey scales at size 22 and 24 ./Humanity/apps/48/gsd-xrandr.svg -- display properties notification area icon still fully coloured https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/443311 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-settings-daemon in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 443311] Re: display properties notification area icon still fully coloured
Now in humanity-icon-theme 0.4.1ubuntu2: - gnome-display-properties: same as lp:humanity - display-capplet: same as lp:humanity - gsd-xrandr: same as lp:humanity except for ./Humanity/apps/24/gsd-xrandr.svg which is a real file with grey scales in lp:humanity and a symlink to display-capplet.svg in the package -- display properties notification area icon still fully coloured https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/443311 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-settings-daemon in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 443311] Re: display properties notification area icon still fully coloured
I uploaded a fix, I believe that ./Humanity-Dark/apps/48/gsd-xrandr.svg in lp:humanity should be fixed to be a symlink to ../../../Humanity/apps/48/display-capplet.svg.
