[Bug 782933] Re: Impossible to copy movie from EOS 550D: gvfsd-gphoto2 uses 3 GB of memoy and gvfs-fuse-daemon crashes

2012-09-02 Thread Maciej Lopuszanski
same here in 12.04. copy files ~6.5GB to my phone (samsung galaxy s3)
ends up gvfs 'eating' of all available ram - 4GB, and then gui hangs up,
after that its either prayer, or reboot.

[Bug 880096] Re: cant change laptop brightness

2011-12-03 Thread Maciej Lopuszanski
I found kind of a workaround for this problem.
1. gedit /etc/default/grub
2. change:
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT=quiet splash
to
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT=quiet splash acpi=off

3. sudo update-grub
4. reboot
5. now the brighness controls works but there is no indicator on the upper
right corner (I can live with that)

I dont know what the option 'acpi=off' exaclty does... so I dont know if it
is a valid solution for the problem.
(maybe something else wont work correclty - time will tell.)

acpi=off disabled battery indicator and processor stayed at 100%.

instead acpi=off I have addded: acpi_osi=Linux

works like a charm!
