[Bug 1910981] [NEW] USB Keyboard Settings (Repeat rate and delay) Reset After Resume From Sleep

2021-01-11 Thread Mart
Public bug reported:

When using a USB keyboard, my custom Repeat Keys delay/speed settings
are lost when my laptop restarts or resumes from sleep/hibernation.

A temporary fix is to toggle repeat keys off and on again in the setting
dialog, but this only lasts for the current session.

Laptop: Apple Macbook Pro Mid 2014 running Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS
Keyboard: Filco Majestictouch 2

[Bug 427168] Re: usb keyboard settings (repeat rate and delay) reset on plugin

2020-11-12 Thread Mart
I am also experiencing this bug on 20.04.1 LTS.

As with the previous comment, the internal keyboard of the laptop works
correctly with the delay/speed settings I've set. However my primary
keyboard, a USB keyboard, loses the delay/speed settings once the laptop
restarts or resumes from sleep/hibernation.

I can confirm that toggling repeat keys off and on again fixes the issue
temporarily for the current session.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal
with as a '.crash' file. Please follow these instructions to have apport report
a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer.

If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport
in /etc/default/apport and restart.

If you are using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop environment - launch nautilus
and navigate to your /var/crash directory and double click on the crash report
you wish to submit.

If you are using Kubuntu or Xubuntu you can file the crash using
/usr/share/apport/apport-qt --crash-file=/var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash in a
terminal - where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report.
I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will
automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently.
Thanks in advance for your cooperation and understanding.

[Bug 407903] [NEW] Evolution crashed on startup

2009-08-02 Thread Mart van Ineveld
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

I use Ubuntu 9.04. Bug information is assembled and has been sent.

Evolution displayed an empty window on startup, and did not react
anymore (window went gray). After that I clicked on the Clock-applet,
and then the panel froze completely, so I had to restart Gnome. I cannot
replay this situation: after a restart of GDM Evolution started as to be
expected.

[Bug 236828] Re: Gnome desktop freezes with desktop applet

2008-08-01 Thread Mart van Ineveld
Thanks for your response.

The clock applet once and awhile froze my desktop (that is: the panel),
but I discovered a work around (killing the gnome panel in a terminal).
I think it has something to do with the contents of the clock applet
dropdown (locations or tasks or something. Maybe a connection to some
server is too slow and the applet is freezing the panel?). I saw on the
internet that I am not the only one with this kind of experience.

The last couple of weeks I experienced no problems however. But I do not
feel comfortable yet about this one issue.

[Bug 204775] Re: selecting gnome panel intlclock causes top bar and many other things to not respond

2008-07-14 Thread Mart van Ineveld
This same bug occured on my Ubuntu system (8.04). It was gone for a couple of
months (weeks?). But now it is back suddenly. I always apply the lates updates
to my system.
If I click on the Clock applet, the desktop freezes. It can be solved bij
opening a terminal (for instance with Ctrl+Alt+F2), and killing the gnome-panel
process. After refreshing the panels on the original desktop everything works
fine again.
It seems that one of the most recent updates reintroduced this bug?

If you want more information, please let me know.

[Bug 236828] [NEW] Gnome desktop freezes with desktop applet

2008-06-02 Thread Mart van Ineveld
Public bug reported:

When I clicked on the Clock applet, the Gnome desktop froze when Evolution was

2008-04-14 Thread Arlen Christian Mart Cuss
Perfect!

Well, almost. No screens appear - I believe this is because I also
*happen* to be suffering from (proposed) bug 216696 - i.e. X detects no
monitors as being available. I'm hoping it's not a complicating factor.

Either way, given these packages gnome-display-properties no longer
crashes, and appears to work fine (given the situation).

Thank you! :)

This problem's just run into me as I recently upgraded my hardy install.
I'm using ATI, however! Any ideas?

[Bug 216676] [NEW] gnome-display-properties crashed on opening with SIGSEGV in rw_mode_get_width()

2008-04-13 Thread Arlen Christian Mart Cuss
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-control-center

I recently upgraded to the latest hardy - beforehand all was working
well; using `radeon' kernel module for my ATI card. Post-upgrade, the
screen resolution changed to 1280x768 (from 1680x1024 or thereabouts -
widescreen monitor). So, I went to gnome-display-properties.. but it
segfaulted. At first, I imagined this to be quite similar to
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-desktop/+bug/204872, but
I am using the latest as was suggested to be the fix (1:2.22.1-0ubuntu5
is the version I'm running). Also, I'm using an ATI card as opposed to
NVidia. compiz was enabled when I started out; disabling does not fix.

gnome-control-center 1:2.22.1-0ubuntu2
libgnome-desktop-2 1:2.22.1-0ubuntu5

Anything else? This seems to be quite a problem.

[Bug 175942] Re: rhytmbox never starts up the first time

2007-12-13 Thread Mart van Ineveld
I started rhythmbox as a command in bash, and it neither showed up with
a window, nor crashed. No activity could be noticed. The system monitor
showed rhythmbox as a sleeping process.

After terminating the process with Ctrl+C, i inspected /var/crash, but there
was no rhythmbox file te be seen (totem seems to have crashed some time):
  [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ rhythmbox
  [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ ls -a /var/crash
  . .. _usr_bin_totem.1000.crash

So, thereafter i started rhythmbox again from bash, but two times, as follows:
  [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ rhythmbox
  [1] 7322
  [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ rhythmbox
  [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$
  ( rhythmbox:7322): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_container_foreach: assertion
`GTK_IS_CONTAINER (container)' failed

  (rhythmbox:7322): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_container_foreach: assertion
`GTK_IS_CONTAINER (container)' failed

  (rhythmbox:7322): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_container_foreach: assertion
`GTK_IS_CONTAINER (container)' failed

  (rhythmbox:7322): Gtk-WARNING **: ShowWindowTray: missing action
TrayShowWindow

  (rhythmbox:7322): Gtk-WARNING **: ShowNotifications: missing action
TrayShowNotifications

  [1]+ Donerhythmbox
  [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$

The second instance of rhythmbox showed up as expected in a normal window. The
first instance never showed any activity, but stopped executing after closing
the second instance in a normal way, as shown above.
There was again no crash file to be seen in /var/crash (did not know this
directory existed, very helpfull information)

Hope this helps.

2007-12-13 Thread Mart van Ineveld
So i decided to experiment a bit further. The following commands generated the
attached debug file.
  [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ rhythmbox --debugrb_debug
And a second instance in a seperate shell:
  [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ rhythmbox --debug

Hope this helps more than the previous postings. And thanks for your
help.
