[Bug 1910981] [NEW] USB Keyboard Settings (Repeat rate and delay) Reset After Resume From Sleep
Public bug reported: When using a USB keyboard, my custom Repeat Keys delay/speed settings are lost when my laptop restarts or resumes from sleep/hibernation. [Bug 427168] Re: usb keyboard settings (repeat rate and delay) reset on plugin
I am also experiencing this bug on 20.04.1 LTS. As with the previous comment, the internal keyboard of the laptop works correctly with the delay/speed settings I've set. However my primary keyboard, a USB keyboard, loses the delay/speed settings once the laptop restarts or resumes from sleep/hibernation. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal with as a '.crash' file. Please follow these instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer. If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport in /etc/default/apport and restart. If you are using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop environment - launch nautilus and navigate to your /var/crash directory and double click on the crash report you wish to submit. If you are using Kubuntu or Xubuntu you can file the crash using /usr/share/apport/apport-qt --crash-file=/var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash in a terminal - where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report. I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently. Thanks for your response. The clock applet once and awhile froze my desktop (that is: the panel), but I discovered a work around (killing the gnome panel in a terminal). I think it has something to do with the contents of the clock applet dropdown (locations or tasks or something. Maybe a connection to some server is too slow and the applet is freezing the panel?). This same bug occured on my Ubuntu system (8.04). It was gone for a couple of months (weeks?). But now it is back suddenly. I always apply the lates updates to my system. [Bug 175942] Re: rhytmbox never starts up the first time
I started rhythmbox as a command in bash, and it neither showed up with a window, nor crashed. No activity could be noticed. The system monitor showed rhythmbox as a sleeping process. After terminating the process with Ctrl+C, i inspected /var/crash, but there was no rhythmbox file te be seen (totem seems to have crashed some time): [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ rhythmbox [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ ls -a /var/crash . .. _usr_bin_totem.1000.crash So, thereafter i started rhythmbox again from bash, but two times, as follows: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ rhythmbox [1] 7322 [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ rhythmbox [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ ( rhythmbox:7322): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_container_foreach: assertion `GTK_IS_CONTAINER (container)' failed (rhythmbox:7322): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_container_foreach: assertion `GTK_IS_CONTAINER (container)' failed (rhythmbox:7322): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_container_foreach: assertion `GTK_IS_CONTAINER (container)' failed (rhythmbox:7322): Gtk-WARNING **: ShowWindowTray: missing action TrayShowWindow (rhythmbox:7322): Gtk-WARNING **: ShowNotifications: missing action TrayShowNotifications [1]+ Donerhythmbox [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ The second instance of rhythmbox showed up as expected in a normal window. The first instance never showed any activity, but stopped executing after closing the second instance in a normal way, as shown above. There was again no crash file to be seen in /var/crash (did not know this directory existed, very helpfull information) Hope this helps. -- rhytmbox never starts up the first time https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/175942 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 175942] Re: rhytmbox never starts up the first time
So i decided to experiment a bit further. The following commands generated the attached debug file. [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ rhythmbox --debugrb_debug And a second instance in a seperate shell: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ rhythmbox --debug Hope this helps more than the previous postings.
