[Bug 181033] All radiochannels and podfeeds gone

2008-01-07 Thread Martin Ahnelöv
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

All my radio channels are gone. Both those that come preinstalled, and
some that I've installed myself.

Also, all my podfeeds and all of their episodes are gone, too. Just from
rhythmbox's list, though: the audio files are still in the ~/Podcast
directory as they should be.

Steps to reproduce:
I just saw it when I opened rhythmbox today. I don't know exactly when it
happaned, but I know I installed a big bunch of new radiochannels around the
5'th of January.

2007-08-10 Thread Martin Ahnelöv
Ok, so if I understand this correctly, when you right-click on a file
and choose properties, Naautilus hangs/freezes and eventually crashes?
An when you restart it, it works again (can you open preferences?).

What version of ubuntu, gnome, nautilus, etc do you use? Happens to all
files? Do you have them in your home, and on the root filesystem? Do you
know if the problem does still exist on the latest Gutsy-alpha?

Can you please run this, make it crash and attach the output, please:

G_DEBUG=fatal_criticals nautilus

Also, follow the steps in https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Backtrace and attach
the resulting file, please.

Thank you.

[Bug 129193] Re: rhythmbox crashed when playing a m4a-file

2007-08-01 Thread Martin Ahnelöv
Hi. I think we should forget about the crash a little, since you (or
anyone else) haven't been able to repeat it. The stuttering, however, is
very confusing. Can you try to fire up the gutsy-live cd and see if it
stutters there too? According to fellow bug triagers, they haven't been
able to reproduce the stuttering either on gutsy.

If it's very important that you are able to play it, you might want to
look into converting it to mp3 or ogg (Soundconverter, and other).

Hello! Thanks for filing a bug. Can you please run this command and make

And please follow the steps in https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Valgrind too.

And to make sure it's not a GStreamer-bug, please run this command:
gst-launch-0.10 playbin uri=file:///path/to/file
and attach it's output.

Now to some questions. What file format is the file in? (if it's legal,
please attach the file) Can you play it in other players (Totem, VLC,
XMMS)? How long does it play before it starts to stutter? When does it
crash? Does it happen when any thoer file is playing?

Can you clarify the sentence It's first crash on playing it, please?

Thank you!

[Bug 123974] Re: evolution-alarm-notify crashed with signal 5 in main()

2007-07-25 Thread Martin Ahnelöv
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 66860 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/66860

I don't think you need to be afraid of opening evolution. A crash in
linux is often not as critical as it is in other system (*cough*). And
about copying files, you do it in the exact same way as in Windows with
the file manager (Ie, move them to the directory you want them in). If
you want to use the terminal, you can google for command line and
beginner's tutorial. Basic file-manipulation is pretty simple.

Also, you can poke ate the files located in your /home/username-
directory as much as you want without any bigger risk. The worst thing
that can happen is that a program is acting a bit funny if you modify
it's config-files in the wrong way. And you can view everything outside
your home-dir without risk. Just don't poke if you don't know what you
are doing.

The sudo command is a command that execute the rest of the command in
Super-user mode (also called root). It's like Admin in windows. Nothing
to worry too much about.

I hope that you won't experience any more trubble with linux. If you do,
please hang in there until we have solved it. It's worth it.

Are you able to start programs before the crash occures? if that is the
case, please follow these instructions and include the logfiles as an
attatchment. https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Valgrind

Also, please watch bug #122637 and do whatever they ask the initial bug
reporter to do. This will greatly help us to see similarities.

Thank you.

open the program-menu -- Accesoaries -- Terminal (this may differ
depending on what language you are using). That will open the Terminal,
or Console. That's where you type the command.

Actually, I don't think you have the same error as the original
reporter RobertoGradini, so can I please beg you to file another bug-
report, so we can have a clearer view of what's going on?

Thank you.
