[Bug 911982] [NEW] No more indicationswhen you get messages for open conversations

2012-01-04 Thread Martin Albisetti
Public bug reported:

Since the last empathy upgrade, I no longer get any indications that someone is
talking to me in a chat window.
In 11.04, the messaging menu would turn blue, which was great and obvious. In
11.10, it was replaced with the almost unnoticeable arrow next to the empathy
icon on the launcher turning blue, which felt like a big regression (missed
people replying a lot, I have sounds disabled), but now, I get nothing. Nothing
turns blue, replies go completely unnoticed.

[Bug 410337] [NEW] Log in screen is confusing, not clear what to do

2009-08-07 Thread Martin Albisetti
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gdm

In the new log in screen in karmic, you are presented with the existing users
on the system. The first one is selected by default, making it very hard to
realize you have to actually click them.
The default case is that your user is selected, making this issue critical
UI-wise.
I've done random testing of this 3 users who use Ubuntu, and none of them could
tell me what they needed to do until I let them click around.

Personally, I think this is the right thing to do. It won't break the *default*

way.
I'm cautious to confirm it though, since upstream has marked it as
invalid/won't fix.

[Bug 61142] Re: gpilotd crashes when syncing adresses/calendar/todo

2006-09-21 Thread Martin Albisetti
There is one bug that's been following me since Breezy (I'm not sure if you
want me to open a new bug).
To actually syncronize, I need to open the gnome-pilot applet, try to
syncronize (it never does the first time), kill gnome-pilot and gpilotd,
open the applet again, and only then it will sycronize.
This happens every single time.

[Bug 61699] Need to start gnome-pilot twice to syncronize

2006-09-21 Thread Martin Albisetti
Public bug reported:

I have been having this problem since Breezy.
To syncronize, I have to open the gnome-pilot applet, try to syncronize, it
always hangs the first time.
Then I kill the process gnome-pilot and gpilotd, open the applet again, an
syncronize without a glitch.
I don't know where to look to provide more specific information, but I'm more
than willing to help out any way I can.

** Affects: gnome-pilot (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Untriaged
 Status: Unconfirmed
