[Bug 267828] Re: switch user does not work
I am also affected by this bug (using a GeForce FX 5500 with nvidia driver version 173.14.12 on Ubuntu 8.10). [Bug 28205] Re: Cannot use playlists with files which are stored in a NFS mount
I have a similar, but not identical, problem. I hope it's OK to post to the same bug report. I also have an NFS mount with music files. I can play the files in Totem, Amarok, etc. But when I point my Rhythmbox library to the mount point, I only get errors under the Import errors tab: Can't access file:///home/martin/Music/music%20on%20undertow/Mr%20Bungle/Backstrokin.mp3 ... etc. Does rhythmbox need write permission? Or could it be a problem with symlinks or spaces in file names? Or something else? In my case, /home/martin/Music/music on undertow is a symlink to /mnt/My Documents/My Music, and my NFS share is mounted at /mnt. -- Cannot use playlists with files which are stored in a NFS mount https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/28205 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 71030] Re: Lock Screen blanks screen instead of showing screensaver (on external monitor)
I'm having the same problem, using one nVidia card with two monitors (laptop monitor + external LCD screen connected through d-sub contact), running Ubuntu 7.10. It has always worked before, but today, the laptop screen goes black after gnome-screensaver starts, and stays black. I can only see the mouse cursor. The other monitor works fine. Running gnome-screensaver-preferences gives me: The program 'gnome-screensaver-preferences' received an X Window System error. This probably reflects a bug in the program. The error was 'BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)'. (Details: serial 343 error_code 8 request_code 78 minor_code 0) It is the same after I do killall gnome-screensaver. Running glxinfo gives: name of display: :0.0 X Error of failed request: BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes) Major opcode of failed request: 78 (X_CreateColormap) Serial number of failed request: 13 Current serial number in output stream: 15 As far as I know, I haven't changed anything since yesterday, when it worked, except for installing gdesklets. -- Lock Screen blanks screen instead of showing screensaver (on external monitor) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/71030 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug contact for gnome-screensaver in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 172538] Nautilus CPU intensive after lots of files created
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus Some time after creating a large number of files, nautilus 2.2.20 (in Ubuntu 7.10) starts using 100% CPU for a while, even if no window is open at that directory. Steps to reproduce: 1. Let a program create around 20,000 small files, in a directory that is not being viewed with nautilus. 2. Wait a few minutes (maybe 10?) 3. Nautilus starts using lots of CPU time for a few minutes. ** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Nautilus CPU intensive after lots of files created https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/172538 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug contact for nautilus in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 172538] Re: Nautilus CPU intensive after lots of files created
The files are .df3 files for POV-Ray. Most of them consist of the following seven bytes: 00 01 00 01 00 01 00. The rest (a few hundred files) have 3381 bytes (header 00 0F 00 0F 00 0F + 3375 other bytes). I thought that I hade to wait a few minutes before nautilus would start working hard, but the last few times I have tried it starts right away. Where can I find nautilus-debug.txt? I saw in another bug report that it should be in my home directory, but I can't find it anywhere under ~. -- Nautilus CPU intensive after lots of files created https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/172538 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 60434] Re: Rhythmbox doesn't notice changes in library
I have the same problem, using Rhythmbox 0.9.5 on Dapper. My music is on a FAT32 partition. Files that I have deleted are noticed as missing, but no new files are added. ~ rhythmbox --version Gnome rhythmbox 0.9.5 I can't check this with the newest Rhythmbox on Edgy at the moment, unfortunately. -- Rhythmbox doesn't notice changes in library https://launchpad.net/bugs/60434 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
