Thanks for the clarification. I wasn't aware that the Ubuntu One
brandind had been re-purposed for the SSO service :)

[Bug 1660908] [NEW] Ubuntu One branding still present when logging in to download snaps

2017-01-31 Thread Mathieu Comandon
Public bug reported:

When asked to log in to Ubuntu's single sign-on service, the Ubuntu One
logo is still displayed, despite the fact that this service has been
halted a few years ago.

This is also true for other places using Ubuntu's SSO such as Launchpad.

[Bug 1635508] [NEW] Tracker sets number of inotify watches to a ridiculously low number

2016-10-20 Thread Mathieu Comandon
Public bug reported:

I have been trying to get Ubuntu to ship with a sane amount of inotify
watches for the past few years and so far there hasn't been any progress
made with that. I've noticed that Tracker increases the number of
watches which is a very good thing! Unfortunately, this number is way
too low to be useful on any modern desktop computer.

The current limit set by tracker is set to 65536 which is somewhat an
improvement over the useless 8192 default but to be useful, and not show
false error messages about full disk drives, inotify needs at least
524288 watches or better 1048576 (which is the value used by the InSync
client).

The sad thing is, when kde-runtime is installed the 30-baloo-inotify-
limit.conf file sets the value to 524288 but unfortunately, 't' comes
after 'b' in the alphabet hence tracker overrides that nice and sane
value to one that will confuse pretty much any user with cryptic and
false messages about full hard drives. (WD=-1, Errno=No space left on
device (ENOSPC))

[Bug 573160] Re: Nautilus browser doesn't automatically refresh

2011-11-14 Thread Mathieu Comandon
Fabio,
The bug is triggered by running out of available inotify watches. Depending on
your setup (number of files in Ubuntu One, size of music collection, etc) it
may take a while before triggering this bug.

If you have manually increased the number of inotify watches to a
reasonnable value, you shouldn't run into that bug at all.

I would mark this bug as duplicate of #879902 , but I'm not sure it's
the correct thing to do so I'm just putting it in confirmed.

[Bug 734937] Re: when movie player is intalled it launches automatically when I try to open any file in places

2011-03-14 Thread Mathieu Comandon
Hey mom :)

I might have to look for duplicates as this may have been reported
already, but I'm reassigning it to nautilus for the moment.

Here's how to reproduce :
 - Right click on a folder, select Open with and select other application
 - Choose some application, for this bug it's totem but for me it's usually
Baobab
 - Leave the Remember this application for folder files checked (it is by
default)
 - Click on open
 - Now every time you click on some folder in the Places menu, it will open
with that application.

To fix this, open a nautilus window and repeat the Open with
procedure, choosing either File manager or Open folder

Nevertheless I consider this to be a valid bug, in my opinion it should
even be considered for the Hundred Papercuts.

** Summary changed:

- when movie player is intalled it launches automatically when I try to open
any file in places
+ Remember this application for folder files prevents from opening nautilus
from places menu

[Bug 324083] Re: gvfsd-smb crashed with SIGSEGV in g_main_context_dispatch()

2010-08-28 Thread Mathieu Comandon
How to reproduce :
 - Mount the network share in Nautilus as usual
 - On a WiFi network, scan for a big music collection in Rhythmbox which is
located on the network share
 - After a while gvfs will not handle the workload and will crash with this
error message.
gvfsd-smb crashed with SIGSEGV in g_main_context_dispatch()

The client is an up-to-date 64bit Maverick Meerkat computer
The network share is on a Synology NAS DS-107

Any instruction on how to produce a backtrace on gvfs-smb would be
greatly appreciated in order to give a more detailed bug report.

[Bug 543011] [NEW] Missing documentation for set_always_show_image

2010-03-20 Thread Mathieu Comandon
Public bug reported:

A recent decision has been made from the Gnome Desktop to remove icons from the
menus.
I have nothing against this decision but apps writers like myself may want to
display an icon whatever the settings are.

I could not find any reference to gtk.ImageMenuItem.set_always_show_image(bool)
in the Reference Manual which is pretty severe given that the decision to
remove icons will affect a lot of users and application developers.

I've added the documentation to get and set always_show_image. I've also added
get and set use_stock which was missing.

[Bug 518370] [NEW] nautilus fails to load: tries accessing libdbusmenu-gtk.so.0

2010-02-07 Thread Mathieu Comandon
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

when I try to launch nautilus I get the following message :
nautilus: error while loading shared libraries: libdbusmenu-gtk.so.0: cannot
open shared object file: No such file or directory

My system is up to date and nautilus' latest changelog entry says :
debian/changelog: * Rebuild with the new libdbusmenu version

libdbusmenu-gtk1 is correctly installed and libdbusmenu-gtk0 is not
(conflicts with the newer version), yet nautilus stills looks for the
earlier version.

I tried rebuilding nautilus on my machine but it didn't help, I still
get the error message.

[Bug 19227] Re: Gnome Dictionary should work offline

2009-12-29 Thread Mathieu Comandon
As Gabriele Monti, it's possible to use offline dictionnaries by installing the
dictd package. But a real bug remains, if no internet connection is present and
someone makes a word search with gnome-dictionnary, then the program just hangs
(This is easily noticeable with Compiz, the window becomes gray).
The internet connectivity should be tested when the first launch is made with a
timeout of 5 seconds for example. If no internet connection is possible, then
show a message box warning the user about the issue (it's not very clear that
Gnome Dictionnary should be used online in the first place)

Also, the offline method using dictd should be described in the
documentation and in the manpage (there is a hint in the manpage in the
see also section, but I couldn't explore in this direction because ...
you know ... no internet connectivity)

[Bug 30378] Re: Joystick activity does not stop the screensaver

2009-04-25 Thread Mathieu Comandon
if you wish to script this you can add gnome-screensaver-command -i to your
game launchers to inhibit the screen saver .
I have yet to find a way to stop this command when the game quits
