[Bug 314039] [NEW] gnome-system-log should not use gksu

2009-01-05 Thread Matti Lindell
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-utils

gnome-system-log (2.24.1-0ubuntu3) in Jaunty is launched using gksu, but the
changelog entry from last sync (2.24.1-0ubuntu2) suggests otherwise:
  * debian/patches/01_logview_gksu.patch:
- don't use gksu to run the log viewer

Patch should probably be dropped as in previous gnome-utils versions.

** Affects: gnome-utils (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

** Description changed:

[Bug 274950] Re: Look into switching to bluez 4.x

2008-09-28 Thread Matti Lindell
There's at least one upgrade related issue remaining that should be
resolved.

After installing bluez package and then trying to purge bluez-utils package,
the following error occurs:
update-rc.d: /etc/init.d/bluetooth exists during rc.d purge (use -f to force)
dpkg: error processing bluez-utils (--purge):
 subprocess post-removal script returned error exit status 1
Errors were encountered while processing:
 bluez-utils

Package states before the purge:
ii bluez 4.7-0ubuntu1~ppa6
rc bluez-audio 3.36-1ubuntu2
ii bluez-cups 4.7-0ubuntu1~ppa6
ii bluez-gnome 1.5-0ubuntu1~ppa6
rc bluez-network 3.36-1ubuntu2
rc bluez-utils 3.36-1ubuntu2

I'm still unable to send files from phone to PC, but everything else
works okay. (I was using obex-data-server 0.3.4+svn1951-0ubuntu1~ppa1 if
it matters).

[Bug 211693] Re: nautilus cannot eject ipod while eject(1) does

2008-04-21 Thread Matti Lindell
Sebastien, could you review the backported patch. There seems to be some sort
of logic error compared to patch that was applied upstream:
http://svn.gnome.org/viewvc/gnome-mount/trunk/src/gnome-mount.c?r1=167r2=166pathrev=167limit_changes=100view=patch

Upstream:
if (found) {
goto try_drive;
} else {
if (opt_eject) {

Ours:
if (found || opt_eject) {
goto try_drive;
} else {
if (opt_eject) {

I think the latter has a condition where 'else clause' is unreachable
when ejecting a device.

[Bug 211693] Re: nautilus cannot eject ipod while eject(1) does

2008-04-15 Thread Matti Lindell
There seems to be no way to safely remove an ipod using GUI in Hardy as
umount leaves the device in Do not disconnect state. Using eject from
console safely removes the hardware. This is regression from earlier
releases and will probably lead to a corrupt song database.

[Bug 211693] Re: nautilus cannot eject ipod while eject(1) does

ejects okay:
$ sudo eject /dev/sdc
$ gnome-mount -e -b -d /dev/sdc2

eject fails:
$ gnome-mount -e -b -d /dev/sdc

gnome-mount seems to fail with an error if ejecting a device instead of
a partition. The problem may arise as differently formatted devices have
different number of partitions and trying to eject wrong partition
yields the same error.

Shouldn't gnome-mount be able to eject a device instead of a partition
as the eject -command does?

[Bug 196239] Re: Enable Browse device again when gvfs gets released again

Here's a debdiff to drop 03_disable_browse_menu.patch and gnome-vfs-
obexftp dependency. For someone who is sponsoring this request, would it
be possible to fix bug #196319 as well? Current bluez-gnome package is
now a native package even though version numbering suggests otherwise.
