2011-07-17 Thread Melroy van den Berg
That is strange I just use Unity 3d and unity 2d (no classic) with
the default Ambiance theme, I didn't change a thing.

I also did a fresh Ubuntu 11.04 install, so what do I wrong?

Kate - how is This can be mitigated by switching to the Dust or Clear
Looks theme a fix? If I install Ubuntu 10.10 on a new machine, the
default theme is still Ambience with 1 px borders. Are users required
to just *know* that they need to change a theme to be able to resize
windows? No other operating system seems to have this requirement. Fix
or change the default theme.

2010-06-25 Thread Melroy van den Berg
@Dominik

I just make a quick patch, see attachment.

Place this *.xml file in:
/usr/share/themes/Shiki-Colors-Metacity/metacity-1

Tt's located in usr/share, so try in terminal:
sudo nautilus
...to have root access to that folder above.

Just select your 'Shiki-Wise' theme with the windowborder
'Shiki-Colors-Metacity'.
You can reselect it to make it work or just reboot.

Again this is a temporary patch.

Kind regards,
Melroy van den berg

My idea was, in instead of making the border size thicker (which looks
less beautiful), you can of source set a kinda of offset where you can
resize your window and where not.

Hopefully you can use this...

press Alt on the keyboard while pressing the middle click on the

pixels does not make much difference.

[Bug 367385] Re: Deleted files not moving to trash

2009-04-28 Thread Melroy van den Berg
Ah thx, it is a command.

==This is on my working partition==
It seems that there is no trash (or prullenbak, that is Dutch for trash) folder
in my home directory.
However it's gvfs-ls trash: with :
Yes then I see the files...

Example:
gvfs-open trash:

Open trash:///, so that seems OK.

All of the folders include root directory of /home/melroy/.local/share/Trash
are empty.
Info files are filled if I move something to trash.

OK, so that is working OK. Tomorrow I want to check it with the old
partition.

==This is on my partition that NOT working==
Coming soon..

[Bug 367385] Re: Deleted files not moving to trash

2009-04-27 Thread Melroy van den Berg
@Sebastien Bacher

1) I think it is reproducible, because I did twice a fresh Ubuntu 9.04
installation. Onetime with ext4 and with ext3. The problem still exists.
However I haven't try it yet on a other pc/laptop.

2)
2.1) Burn the Image on a RW CD.
2.2) Try the install the Ubuntu 9.04 i386 in Dutch (Netherlands) language (NOT
on a virtual machine like VMware).
2.3) Format the first partition ext3 or ext4, choose format, / as root level
and a swap partition
2.4) The rest of the settings keep it default. However choose for automatic
login.
2.5) Reboot, create a new file on the desktop. Then choose move it to trash.

EDIT!
You never believe it, the problem is solved???
I don't now why I was looking (and this because I still not believe it) a the
bottom right of my window. I saw ?prop? in the trash.

You fixed it with a update already?
I can try it again... I make a copy of this working partition with clonezilla
and install a fresh Ubuntu. Lets see what happens.
