[Bug 459365] [NEW] mailto thunderbird gconf problem

2009-10-23 Thread Michaël Van Dorpe
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: f-spot

If Thunderbird is your default mail handler, and you want to send an
e-mail from within f-spot, the message gets created, but the pictures do
not get attached.

To solve this problem, you can change the gconf value of /desktop/gnome
/url-handlers/mailto/command from /usr/lib/thunderbird/thunderbird
%s to simply thunderbird %s.

However, that is not a good solution either, because as soon as you
launch thunderbird again, it will complain about not being the default
mailto handler anymore. If you then agree to make Thunderbird the
default e-mail handler, the gconf value will be reverted and you won't
be able to send e-mails using f-spot anymore...

This boils down to the question of whether f-spot or thunderbird are
right about the gconf syntax, and I have no idea about that.

Gnome-games turns out to be a hit with people who use my computer.
However, they tell me that mines is not very responsive when played in

[Bug 154906] xsane preview window in gimp doesn't always display correctly

2007-10-20 Thread Michaël Van Dorpe
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gimp

Step 1: In Gimp, click File Acquire Xsane Device dialog.
In the device selection window, select your scanner and click OK (for me: Canon
LiDE 60)

Result: Xsane window appears and preview window briefly shows and then
disappears again

Step 2: In the Xsane window, click Window Preview

Result: The Preview window shows up again, *but it's completely grey and
you can't see the menu's, rulers, etc...*

Workaround:

Step 3: Now: close the xsane window *without closing the preview window
first*

Step 4: repeat step 1

Result: Xsane window appears, and preview window as well, just like in
the result for Step 1, but now the preview window does not suddenly
disappear anymore, and is fully functional

2007-02-05 Thread Michaël Van Dorpe
Here's a more verbose report.

I launch gnome-terminal
I start rhythmbox from the command line
Immediately, I get the following message in the command line:
Rhythmbox: could not connect to socket
Rhythmbox: Connection refused

Then, I hit the play button on my apple remote
Since shuffle is on, a random song starts playing

Meanwhile, I have received a couple of messages in the terminal that all say:
** (rhythmbox:13284): WARNING **: Size 5760 is not a multiple of unit size
5520

Then I press on the apple remote

Another random song starts playing

Then I press for about 8 seconds

Rhythmbox closes, and I see this in the terminal:

Segmentation fault

[Bug 38459] Help in System Documentation is blank

2006-04-06 Thread Michaël Van Dorpe
Public bug reported:

Affects: yelp (Ubuntu)
   Severity: Normal
   Priority: (none set)
 Status: Unconfirmed

Description:
Choose System/Help/System Documentation

Result: I see the lifesaver, the help topics title, the other
document categories subtitle, but no list of help topics.

Compare with:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=109143
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=146592
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=131567

I just updated/dist-upgraded, but that doesn't solve the problem.

I ran sudo scrollkeeper-rebuilddb as suggested in that bug report, and it
solved my problem.

Thank you

[Bug 37257] Re: Deskbar history has short URL memory

2006-03-30 Thread Michaël Van Dorpe
I changed the line to a maximum history of 1000.

Everything seems to work fine, but I only entered +/- 50 items. I will come
back to this if I see any problems.

However, I get the impression that the dropdown menu of the deskbar applet
(left click the magnifying glass) wants to be as long as the maximum history,
which means the list hits the bottom of the screen, and who knows how much
longer it really is (if that's possible).

Can the lenght of that list be limited independently of the maximum history?

[Bug 37257] Deskbar history has short URL memory

2006-03-29 Thread Michaël Van Dorpe
Public bug reported:
https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/37257

Affects: deskbar-applet (Ubuntu)
   Severity: Normal
   Priority: (none set)
 Status: Unconfirmed

Description:
Why don't my old URL's show up anymore after a while? A longer history
would be useful... I haven't really tested how long it takes before
Deskbar forgets browsing history, but it's not very long.
