This is **still** not fixed with 7.04 final... Just did a clean install and now the workaround using gconftool-2 does not work either... Sorry this bug is NOT fixed, just downloaded all the Feisty updates again (15 April) and changing the button layout in gconf-editor is STILL ignored. Good point, I forgot the actualy reported bug. I need to see if gconf-editor >Apps > Metacity > General > button_layout this setting is still being ignored. Extra info...
