[Bug 424648] Re: Error: ssh program unexpectedly exited when trying to browse files on router

2010-01-29 Thread Pétur Ingi Egilsson
Hi i'm having this same problem when trying to connect to one of my sftp
locations, using Ubuntu 9.10 (up to date) and doing Places-Connect to
server

The server which is giving me the problem is running Solaris 9 and the
following version of SSH:
OpenSSH_3.1p1, SSH protocols 1.5/2.0, OpenSSL 0x0090603f

I regularly use the same method to connect to other sftp location
without problems.

I tried connecting to the sftp location in question from the command line and
recived the following error:
Connecting to server
subsystem request failed on channel 0
Couldn't read packet: Connection reset by peer

Connecting to the same server with FileZilla using sftp, works just
fine.

[Bug 508427] [NEW] Printout of the keyboard layout Dell Latitude series laptop is empty.

2010-01-16 Thread Pétur Ingi Egilsson

Binary package hint: gnome-control-center

I'm using the following system-wide keyboard layout: Iceland, and an
additional layout Denmark.

I need to print out the Danish keyboard layout for my laptop (Latitude

series laptop) and then after either using print preview or printing to
a pdf file, the results is a picture of my keybord with blank keys.

[Bug 176755] Re: nautilus should provide more detailed error dialog when move to trash fails

2009-12-07 Thread Pétur Ingi Egilsson
Nautilus 2.28.1

Scenario: Trying to delete a file from a non-home partition.

Error:
Cannot move file to trash, do you want to delete immediately?
[Cancel] [Skip] [Delete]

I've been trying to solve this for almost 2 hours.
I cannot find anything in the documentations about this.
I followed fireball's instructions without a working solution.

I'm using a workstation at home, i can't call any IT department and ask
for the administrator.

Ubuntu prompts the user for the root password all the time, why not
explain the situation, ask for the password and solve the problem?

[Bug 176755] Re: nautilus should provide more detailed error dialog when move to trash fails

2009-12-07 Thread Pétur Ingi Egilsson
Update: Creating a .Trash at the root of the partition in question and
changing it's permission to 777 with a sticky bit solved the problem.

Still i suggest Ubuntu should prompt the user for the root password and
solve this, specially as this also affects removable media.

[Bug 493693] [NEW] Files from non-home partitions don't show up in Nautilus Trash

2009-12-07 Thread Pétur Ingi Egilsson

/dev/md0/home autodefaults,acl0 0
#/dev/md0 is ext3

History:
Files deleted from / were unable to be moved to Trash as there is no trash
folder on /

Problem:
I created /.Trash-petur with chown petur.petur and then delete a file from /
The file was moved to /.Trash-petur/files/
The file does not show up in Nautilus Trash.

I then removed the /.Trash-petur directory and created /.Trash/ with chmod 1777
and then deleted another file from /
This time a subdir uuid was created under /.Trash/ and the deleted file was
moved to /.Trash/uuid/files/
The file does not show up in Nautilus Trash.

I thought maby there is a bug causing the files in /.Trash/uuid/ not to be
displayed.
I deleted a file from /home/ and it shows up in Trash.
I did Empty Trash and the file disappeared from the Trash.
However the files deleted from / are still in /.Trash/uuid/files/
