[Bug 281670] Re: [hardy] F-Spot can't adjust paper size and ignores printer setting
I also can't get anything to print correctly from F-Spot. I just brought home an HP Photosmart C3180. I have tried all option combinations I can imagine under F-Spot and the print config dialog and I get the exact behaviour you describe above. The printer first refuses to print because it doesn't believe the paper is the correct size. When I override this warning I get a corner printed with the rest of the image cropped off. It's as if the image hasn't been scaled down to fit. I have successfully printed using the HPLIP gui tool although this has scaled keeping the aspect ratio correct and this has resulted in white margins top and bottom. I intend to see if I can resolve this but even if I can using the HPLIP tool is a pretty horrible workaround for printing photos. This is using Hardy, I haven't tested Intrepid but the post above suggests that won't help. -- [hardy] F-Spot can't adjust paper size and ignores printer setting https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/281670 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to f-spot in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 238817] [NEW] Evince and XPDF no longer print UK Royal Mail online stamps correctly
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evince The UK Royal mail provide a service where you can print your postage online. It provides you with a PDF file which you print out and attach to your envelope. The problem is that on screen the PDF appears with SAMPLE written across the middle of it, with a note that this won't appear in the printed version. Unfortunately it does appear in the printed version making the label useless. Both Evince and XPDF as provided with Hardy exhibit this behaviour, however the version of Xpdf provided with Gutsy worked correctly (ie the label printed without SAMPLE written across it) but evince as provided with Gutsy didn't print at all. I was going to get the official Adobe Acrobat reader but there isn't a x86-64 version so that's not really a valid workaround for my machine. I have logged this against evince because I think the default PDF reader should be able to cope with these files, although I guess it's also a regression against Xpdf. Just to be clear, the royalmail site does allow you to download a sample before you pay and print the real thing, but this attachment is the final paid for version not the sample. ** Affects: evince (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Evince and XPDF no longer print UK Royal Mail online stamps correctly https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/238817 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evince in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
