turn up.

[Bug 132920] Re: evolution crashed with SIGSEGV in giop_recv_buffer_get()

2007-08-22 Thread Paul Wagland
I can reproduce the crash, although it does not always give me the
approx popup.

As an aside, since the crash I can only see e-mails that turned up after
the crash. I know that they are all still in my mailbox, as I can see
them with webmail, do you know how I can force evolution to fully reread
the mailbox again? I do have a workaround, in that if I move the mail to
another mbox, and then back into the INBOX then evo will see it and
download it however I have a lot of e-mails in my inbox, and this is
a tedious process :-)

I will try to reproduce this, but will not be near my main machine much
in the next week.

And yes, I am fully uptodate, however I also need to run VMWare 5.5,
which does not compile against the 2.6.22 kernel, so I still run with a
2.6.20 kernel, but all libraries/packages/et al. are up to date.

create a new bug for the new apport traces, or just attach them here. If
the latter... how?

This only happens whtn the 'remind missing attachments' option is
checked in composer preferences and one of the keywords is in the

[Bug 125536] Internal error when sending mail

2007-07-12 Thread Paul Wagland
Public bug reported:

When trying to send an e-mail, I get a dialog box popup with the
following message:

Internal error, unknown error

This does have 'do not show this again' option, but no yes/no/OK/cancel
buttons. If I send an e-mail with an attachment, it works fine, and the
e-mail is sent.

[Bug 119997] Evolution decodes ISO-2022-JP incorrectly.

2007-06-12 Thread Paul Wagland
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

When evolution shows a message in the ISO-2022-JP character set it
incorrectly starts decoding as 'JIS X 0201-1976 (Roman set)' instead
of as ASCII. The specification (RFC 1468) says that text starts in
ASCII, and only switches to Japanese characters through an escape
sequence. The Roman set is considered to be Japanese for this
discussion. For the most part, this does not matter, as The Roman
character set of JIS X 0201 [JISX0201] is identical to ASCII except for
backslash () and tilde (~). The backslash is replaced by the Yen sign,
and the tilde is replaced by overline.

That is, given the mail message:

--_=_NextPart_001_01C7ACC7.8B7C4F65
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-2022-JP
Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit

next.url=http\://go.to.there/

It should be displayed as:

next.url=http\://go.to.there/

However, evolution incorrectly displays it as:

next.url=http„://go.to.there/

[Bug 88616] Re: [apport] gnome-terminal crashed with SIGSEGV

2007-02-28 Thread Paul Wagland
I have the same problem, although I was also able to get the terminal to
crash shortly after logging in. After it had been sitting for an hour
(lunch) then I was not able to get it to crash further.

[Bug 88616] Re: [apport] gnome-terminal crashed with SIGSEGV

2007-02-28 Thread Paul Wagland
Of course... I spoke to soon. I just went off to do some serious work,
and was trying to setup my terminals in the one true way and gnome-
terminal crashed when I opened up a new tab.

I can reliably make it crash now by setting my terminal to maximised
(for me 209x73) and then opening tabs. By the time I have two tabs of
that size open then gnome-terminal will crash. If I leave it at the
default of 80x24 then it appears that I can open as many tabs and/or
windows as I wish.

[Bug 88616] Re: [apport] gnome-terminal crashed with SIGSEGV

2007-02-28 Thread Paul Wagland
Further experimentation shows that reverting libvte9 to version
1:0.15.3-0ubuntu3 instead of the newly installed 1:0.15-4-0ubuntu1 makes
gnome-terminal stable again.

That is the bug would appear to be in the new version of libvte9.

[Bug 75360] Re: Crash on exchange account activity (package out of date?)

This is what I said on bug #75361... I almost didn't enter a dupe ;-)

[Bug 75360] Re: Crash on exchange account activity (package out of date?)

2006-12-11 Thread Paul Wagland
I will also say that I did an:

apt-get source evolution-exchange
sudo apt-get build-dep evolution-exchange

changed camel-exchange-store.c according to the above patch

debian/rules binary

and installed the resulting binary, and now my evolution runs fine (as
far as i can tell so far)

Comment:
I no longer have this particular problem. It will occasionally lose the
connection, but it hardly ever crashes on me anymore.
