[Bug 1061958] Re: [Quantal] thunderbird crashes on Lubuntu
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1038047 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1038047 On Lubuntu I have methodically isolated the cause of *my* problem to the following plugin: 'EDS Contact Integration'. Thing is, it's a default plugin. When I enable this plugin tbird starts but the instant I click on a folder it crashes. Sometimes I need to click on a few folders (but so far, never more than 3. I'm not sure why this can be). When I disable it this behaviour is not present, even after much clicking. I can repeat the above workaround and crash with great certainty. This information also provided in bug #1038047. ** Summary changed: - [Quantal] thunderbird does not start on Lubuntu + [Quantal] thunderbird crashes on Lubuntu -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evolution-data-server in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1061958 Title: [Quantal] thunderbird crashes on Lubuntu To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evolution-data-server/+bug/1061958/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1038047] Re: evolution-data-server has to be installed for Thunderbird 15 after upgrade to be executable, otherwise Thunderbird will crashs at runtime
On Lubuntu I have methodically isolated the cause of *my* problem to the following plugin: 'EDS Contact Integration'. Thing is, it's a default plugin. When I enable this plugin tbird starts but the instant I click on a folder it crashes. Sometimes I need to click on a few folders (but so far, never more than 3. I'm not sure why this can be). When I disable it this behaviour is not present, even after much clicking. I was brought here due to my original bug (bug #1061958) being made a duplicate of this one. [Bug 385596] [NEW] P3: Locked GNOME Panel does not affect gmenu-simple-editor
*** This bug is a security vulnerability *** Private security bug reported: -BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA1 This bug makes it impossible to create a locked down system. It affects a support customer (school roll-out scenario) and has a high impact profile. Summary: An administrator removes menu items from the Menu Bar with gmenu-simple-editor (right-click Applications 'Edit Menus'). He/she then removes command line access and Panel modification: gconftool-2 \ --direct \ --config-source xml:readwrite:/etc/gconf/gconf.xml.mandatory \ --type bool --set /desktop/gnome/lockdown/disable_command_line true gconftool-2 \ --direct \ --config-source xml:readwrite:/etc/gconf/gconf.xml.mandatory \ --type bool --set /apps/panel/global/locked_down true This bug allows a user to circumvent all that by simply adding applications back into the menus because gmenu-simple-editor is not affected by the gconf /apps/panel/global/locked_down key as it should be. [Bug 72468] Re: Trash looks empty, isn't
I had the inverse case: trash icon was displaying properly the situation (showing full and mouseover provides increasing number of newly deleted items) but the .Trash directory remained empty.
