[Bug 1374841] Re: gstreamer crashes when opening WMA files

2015-02-09 Thread Pierre van Male
In my case, VLC is not affected, but Totem, Nautilus, Firefox and
Shotwell are. Any video file makes them crash with the following
Gstreamer error message:

GStreamer-CRITICAL **: gst_structure_new_empty: assertion
'gst_structure_validate_name (name)' failed

I installed all the bad and ugly plugins possible, to no avail.

[Bug 1374841] Re: gstreamer crashes when opening WMA files

2015-01-11 Thread Pierre van Male
In my case, when trying to open the properties window in Nautilus over a .mp4
file or if I try to play this file with Totem, I am getting the same error:
(nautilus:7717): GStreamer-CRITICAL **: gst_structure_new_empty: assertion
'gst_structure_validate_name (name)' failed
Segmentation fault (core dumped)

I can open the file with VLC though...

[Bug 1174663] Re: gvfsd-http eats 100% CPU

2013-10-14 Thread Pierre van Male
Dear all,

Recently, I noticed that I was experiencing the same problem (Ubuntu
13.04).

I use to create an SSH tunnel to a personal server (ssh -D ...) and
configure a system-wide proxy via this tunnel.

I will remove the proxy for the coming days and see if the problem
persists.

Best regards,
Pierre

I have evince updated to 3.5.2-0ubuntu2 and still face the same problem,
including with a pdf file freshly created from LibreOffice.
