[Bug 303604] Re: rhythmbox could not open resource for reading

2008-11-30 Thread PrivateVoid
The suggested fix did not solve the issue. I still have not been able to
confirm.

[Bug 303604] Re: rhythmbox could not open resource for reading

2008-11-30 Thread PrivateVoid
I have converted the bug back...

Can you try moving the files from the XP share to the local HD and then
add those to the library.

I want to see if it is an issue with the file format or the XP Share.

[Bug 303604] Re: rhythmbox could not open resource for reading

changed this to incomplete because it appears the bug is with the share
or SAMBA and not Rhythmbox.

[Bug 303604] Re: rhythmbox could not open resource for reading

2008-11-30 Thread PrivateVoid
based on the information you put in the question about the file working
if you copied them locally... the issue appears to be with your share
(potentially with SAMBA) and not the file. I would lean away from
Rhythmbox being the culprit.

[Bug 303604] Re: rhythmbox could not open resource for reading

2008-11-30 Thread PrivateVoid
Rhythmbox may be reporting that error because that is the fork that
application has taken.

You might want to run Rhythm box from a terminal to see if anything
interesting is listed.

you can also run it from the terminal with the following command:

rhythmbox -d

Which will produce a lot of output... that might help narrow things
down.

I am making a 'leap' to Samba / XP Share issue because of the fact that the
same music working when you move the file locally. IMHO that eliminates the
codecs. It may still be a Rhythmbox issue, but it would be with the share more
than the codec involved in playing the file.

[Bug 303604] Re: rhythmbox could not open resource for reading

2008-11-29 Thread PrivateVoid
The description makes it sound more like it is a possible issue with the
rhythmbox database. Will convert to a question and give the answer that
I believe should fix it. I was unable to reproduce the error after
running two tests.

[Bug 287811] Re: Emptying Trash Fails with 'Error while expunging folder'

2008-11-14 Thread PrivateVoid
None of the fixes listed here or on linked pages worked for me.

I noticed that the issue was with trash I deleted from one of the two
subfolders I had created. I moved all the mail from that folder to a
subfolder with a different name, emptied the trash and the trash stayed
empty.

I have the same issue. This bug was not about a crash which is why I
suspect it was marked invalid.

2008-08-03 Thread PrivateVoid
I am running the 2.6.24-19 x86_64 kernel and I am not having the issue.
I can run a java applet and totem and rythmbox - all play sound... I can
run a java applet then switch to those two without issue.

Need the output of lspci if possible to see if the issue is related to a
specific sound card.

[Bug 228680] Re: logging out to gdm screen and logging in again as same user hangs gdm

2008-05-19 Thread PrivateVoid
I am having a similar problem only after applying the patch found in
this report - https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-
restricted-modules-envy-2.6.24/+bug/118605

Before applying this patch I just get a black screen and locked mouse
cursor.

I am currently not at the machine in question - I will post the logs
from that machine in a few minutes.
