[Bug 247364] Re: Some emails are not displayed but are saved in the mailbox file

2010-06-04 Thread PrototypeX29A
I've had a similar problem, where I wasn't able to see all may incoming mails.
In turned out that there was some persistent mail filter, which was not clearly
visible.

"Search > Clear" removed the filter.

[Bug 586895] [NEW] Totem without sound

2010-05-28 Thread PrototypeX29A
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: totem

Distro: Lucid Lynx
Totem Version: 2.30.1

When I open any video with totem, it plays the video but does not play its
sound.
If I open mp3s I hear no sound, but the progress bar is advancing.

Totem has never been working since installation (karmic) and it still
isn't after the upgrade to lucid lynx.

Generally sound is working, and I have sound with GStreamer applications
like gst-launch and rhythmbox.

Rhythmbox only seems to play songs which are already in its database, otherwise
it will just pause/unpause the current song.

I don't imagine that stuff. The steps to reproduce the bug, given at
2010-01-10, still will reliably produce the error.
Are you doing exactly the same routine? Are you using "Open File" and then
"Open Directory" via the "Meda" menu?
Do you change to the parent directory? Are you clicking the "Open" Button?
I will try to reproduce it on another machine, if I get hands on one.

a.) open a single file from a directory

c.) click "Open"

I have changed the values in /etc/login.defs to the ones you proposed (UID_MIN

It still would be interesting, what messed up with these settings (which in my

only two things i did after the installation), but for my part I am now happy
and content.

users-admin.log is empty.

The values in login.defs are NOT the same (as in the comment of 501421),
but indeed funny;

#
# Min/max values for automatic uid selection in useradd
#
UID_MIN 0
UID_MAX 0
# System accounts
#SYS_UID_MIN 100
#SYS_UID_MAX 999

The entries in /etc/adduser.con seem correct:

# FIRST_SYSTEM_[GU]ID to LAST_SYSTEM_[GU]ID inclusive is the range for UIDs
# for dynamically allocated administrative and system accounts/groups.
# Please note that system software, such as the users allocated by the
base-passwd
# package, may assume that UIDs less than 100 are unallocated.

[Bug 499889] [NEW] "Type name of new folder" does not have focus, when doing "save as" with descending ordering.

2009-12-23 Thread PrototypeX29A
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gedit

1)
Description:Ubuntu 9.10
Release:9.10
2)
gedit: Installed: 2.28.0-0ubuntu2
3&4)
When I want to save a file with ctrl-shift-s I get an file open menu, which
asks me to specify the file name.
If the ordering of the file browser panel is descending and has already been
descending at the time of creation of the dialog, the following occurs:
If a click on "create new folder" a new folder entry "Type name of new folder"
does appear at the _end_ of the list, while the focus
in some kind of name-change-mode goes to the _first_ element of the list. Now
it is not possible to edit the name of the new folder, and it will not be
created.
Note that the error is not reproducible if you change the order to descending
and then directly try to create a new folder, but only if you change it to
descending, close the dialog, open the dialog again, and then create a new
folder.
