[Bug 1727269] Re: Window buttons and window edges are not rendered/designed cleanly - Ubuntu 17.10 Gnome
The above mentioned darker window edges in 17.10 do not appear in all windows. They appear in Firefox, Thunderbird and e.g. the Gnome Terminal (maybe this has to do with gnome-terminal being at 2.24). The window decorations in for example the file-manager are not affected. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1727269 Title: Window buttons and window edges are not rendered/designed cleanly - Ubuntu 17.10 Gnome To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1727269/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 1727269] Re: Window buttons and window edges are not rendered/designed cleanly - Ubuntu 17.10 Gnome
In the attached screenshot one can see that there is a difference in the color of the outer pixels of the screen edge. In 17.10 there is a darker grey. Both windows were in the front, when the screenshots were taken. To me, due to the less smooth transition of colors, the screen edges in 17.10 look somewhat rough, ripped. ** Attachment added: "window_edges.png" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1727269/+attachment/4998650/+files/window_edges.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1727269 Title: Window buttons and window edges are not rendered/designed cleanly - Ubuntu 17.10 Gnome To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1727269/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1727269] Re: Window buttons and window edges are not rendered/designed cleanly - Ubuntu 17.10 Gnome
Thanks for your quick reply. No, its on the Laptop screen with the correct driver for each laptop in place. Maybe I'm a little too sensitive for these cosmetic issues, the difference strikes me immediately. Maybe its just because the buttons are scaled a little bigger in 17.10. I see grey pixels inside the red close button. It looks cleaner in 16.04. Screenshots attached. ** Attachment added: "17.10. [Bug 1727280] [NEW] The Dropbox status icon is too small and offers no left- or right-click menu
Public bug reported: The Dropbox status icon is too small and offers no left- or right-click menu. The size of the icon seems to be about 16px and has no interactive funcionality. That means that Dropbox cannot be configured via the menu and one cannot prevent Dropbox from autostarting. This is the case in stock Ubuntu 17.10 in both the wayland- and xorg- session (Thinkpad x220 and Macbook Pro 2010). The Dropbox status icon should have the same resolution as the other icons in the top-panel, for example the battery indicator, and offer a left- or right-click menu. gnome-shell: Installed: 3.26.1-0ubuntu4 Candidate: 3.26.1-0ubuntu4 Version table: *** 3.26.1-0ubuntu4 500 500 http://de.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu artful/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status nautilus-dropbox: Installed: 2015.10.28-1ubuntu2 Candidate: 2015.10.28-1ubuntu2 Version table: *** 2015.10.28-1ubuntu2 500 500 http://de.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu artful/multiverse amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status ** Affects: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Description changed: The Dropbox status icon is too small and offers no left- or right-click - menu. [Bug 1727269] [NEW] Window buttons and window edges are not rendered/designed cleanly - Ubuntu 17.10 Gnome
Public bug reported: Window buttons and window edges are not rendered/designed cleanly - Ubuntu 17.10 Gnome. This is really just a cosmetic issue. The window edges (mostly only top left) and window buttons were sharper and clearer in Ubuntu 16.04 und the versions before. The rough window egdges do not appear in all windows, it is especially obvious with Firfox. The impression with the buttons is always present. This is apparent in stock Ubuntu 17.10 on various laptops (Thinkpad x220, Acer Aspire 5253, Macbook Pro late 2010). ** Affects: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1727269 Title: Window buttons and window edges are not rendered/designed cleanly - Ubuntu 17.10 Gnome To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1727269/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
