Douglas, a new version of xorg-server was uploaded yet to Dapper. This version has a patch to fix dual head support - it would be excellent to hear from you if this version fixes your problem. Rejecting the bug for now, since the original reporter is unable to repeat it again. Per your report, it seems like the symbolic link from /usr/bin/X was somehow erased.
