Re: [Bug 794306] Re: Rar file. Cannot open files or folders if their name contains portuguese characters like ~ or ç
OK. This is my test result: All works well if RAR is not installed. Once I install RAR, the name of the RTF file inside the RAR changes to Ken Follett - Na Toca do LeÆo.rtf Having RAR removed works perfectly. Thank you for all your help. Re: [Bug 794306] Re: Rar file. Cannot open files or folders if their name contains portuguese characters like ~ or ç
Hello Benjamin Drung, Attached is one of the files giving me this problem. /I ended up doing it the old fashioned way :-) //unrar x Ken\ Follett\ -\ Na\ Toca\ do\ Leão.rar/ But we use these characters a lot in Portugal so most of the filenames have this. For the Ubuntu newcomer this is not a minor problem. Thanks for all the help. Re: [Bug 794306] Re: Rar file. Cannot open files or folders if their name contains portuguese characters like ~ or ç
I'm currently using Ubuntu 12.10. I have both rar and unrar installed, not unar. I Installed unar but that did not help either. The problem happens when using the native Archive Manager (V 3.6.1.1). Opening the rar archive works fine but when I try to extract the rtf file inside the rar it says An error occorred while extracting files. On 12/05/2012 10:35 PM, Benjamin Drung wrote: I can extract that example file without problems (it just contains a ã, but no ~ or ç). I use Ubuntu 12.10 and have unar installed.
