[Bug 1035703] Re: Relocating library loses ability to set event photos

2012-08-11 Thread Ryan Daly
I was doing some reading and found an unrelated issue, but it described
a workaround to have the thumbnails regenerated. One needed to select
all of the photos and flip them, then revert to the original. That
didn't work, but selecting all of the photos and enhancing them, then
reverting back to the original *does* work.

An interesting thing to note is that I can select a photo to be the key
for an event, but that photo will not show up until after the workaround
described above is performed.

I performed the following:
1) Obtained a dump of photo.db.
2) Started Shotwell and assigned a new key photo for an event.
3) Shut down Shotwell and obtained another dump.
4) Restarted Shotwell and performed the workaround described above.
4) Shut down Shotwell and obtained another dump.

The only difference between the 3 dumps is the "primary_source_id" field
in the EventTable. In the dump obtained in #1, the field's value is
"thumb0c8d". In the other 2 dumps, the field's value is
"thumb0c8e".

[Bug 1035703] [NEW] Relocating library loses ability to set event photos

2012-08-11 Thread Ryan Daly
Public bug reported:

I recently relocated my Shotwell library... Afterward I noticed that it
"lost" a few photos. I managed to get them back, but then noticed that
various events lost their key photos. I have not been able to get these
back... Not sure what to do, and reimporting these photos doesn't seem
to be an option as that may lost tags and other modifications.

2011-11-02 Thread Ryan Daly
Public bug reported:

Using Ubuntu 11.10 (with gnome-shell). Upon opening a conversation (by
clicking the icon in the notification area), the Empathy window opens

[Bug 12893] Re: Shouldn't put .Trash-$USER on removable devices

2010-08-07 Thread Ryan Daly
It is definitely not a fresh user. The user ID that I've been using has
been around for a while. (Are you thinking maybe some legacy
configuration settings are causing this?)

Also, the install of 10.04 was performed via do-release-upgrade. Prior
to that, I believe 9.04 was the version that I installed from scratch.

being held somewhere different... Sorry for those details being wrong.

[Bug 491578] [NEW] Upgrading GDM wipes customized configuration

2009-12-02 Thread Ryan Daly
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gdm

Upgrading GDM removes customized GDM configuration.

This configuration is now held in ~gdm/.gconf. After upgrading the gdm
package, the ~gdm/.gconf directory is empty. Since the new gdm utilizes
this area for configuration, upgrading the package removes
customizations.

Release details:
Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description:Ubuntu 9.10
Release:9.10
Codename: karmic

Package details:
gdm 2.28.1-0ubuntu2
GNOME Display Manager

gdm:

100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

Upgrading this package should leave customizations intact.

I can also confirm this bug still exists in Jaunty.

maxed out at 1.5MB/s. I then resorted to command-line sftp and am
seeing speeds of 10.8MB/s.
