[Bug 1203592] Re: Keyboard backlight does not work in Samsung Series 9 NP900X4C

2014-04-25 Thread Sérgio Faria
To complement what aisthesis said, now, in Ubuntu 14.04, the kb backlight
works.
It gets triggered only via the luminosity sensor, not the fn keys.

I don't recommend removing that blacklist, as its known to brick the
laptop in UEFI mode (atleast in old BIOS versions).

Fritz if its no longer a problem in oneiric please don't use apport-
collect in it as the version might confuse developers. When I have the
time, I will try to reproduce this in VirtualBox with 3.0.0-0ubuntu2
(Natty).

** Description changed:

+ Files in /usr/share/gnome/help-langpack/gnome-help/de are from
  language-pack-gnome-de-base.

With this broken links yelp search segfaults (this is a yelp bug and a
  packaging bug. IMO).

but it does not segfault.

[Bug 426583] Re: Evolution DUPLICATE Gmail IMAP Send messages

2011-09-13 Thread Sérgio Faria
Quoting https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=599230#c8

As stated in comment #1, GMail is saving copy of the sent message to Sent Mail
folder on its own, which is not standard approach. You can edit your mail
account and change the Sent folder to some other in the Defaults tab, say to
the default On This Computer/Sent folder to workaround GMail's feature which
makes you feel as bug in Evolution. Evolution doesn't have many workarounds for
GMail and the less it will have the better.

[Bug 779446] Re: The mute volume multimedia key always has it's light on

2011-09-03 Thread Sérgio Faria
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. We need some more information from you before we can
start working on this bug.

Please run the following command which will attach necessary
information:

apport-collect 779446

Bear in mind that you may need to install the python-launchpadlib
package from the universe repository with 'sudo apt-get install python-
launchpadlib'. Additionally, when prompted to give apport-collect
permissions for Launchpad you will need to give it at least the ability
to Change Non-Private data as it will be adding information to your
bug report.

If you are using an older release or cannot use apport please at least add the
following information (pay attention to lspci's additional options):
First run the following commands:
1) uname -a uname-a.log
2) dmesg dmesg.log
3) sudo lspci -vvnn lspci-vvnn.log
4) cat /proc/version_signature version.log
then attach the files separately to the bug report (not pasted into comments or
tar/zip-ed).

For your reference, the full description of procedures for kernel-
related bug reports is available at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelTeam/KernelTeamBugPolicies. Thanks in
advance!

[Bug 840521] Re: I cannot use VNC with vinagre

2011-09-03 Thread Sérgio Faria
** Description changed:

This is the steps to reproduce the bug:
-
- 1. Enter 'vinagre' in the terminal.
- 2. Select 'Edit'-'Plug-in'.
-
- The vnc plug-in is disabled, and if I want to check the vnc plug-in, an
error
- of missing some .so file will be showed in the terminal. It seems that I
have
- not installed the vinagre package correctly. But the reinstall 'sudo apt-get
- install vinagre' doesn't fix the problem.
-
- I tried to download the missing .so file, but at the end, I found that I
could
- not fix the problem.
-
- So any solution to fix it?
-
- By the way, my system is Ubuntu 11.04 and it has been upgraded from 10.XX (I
- don't remember). Maybe the upgrade causes the issue.

[Bug 388904] Re: Nautilus 'Computer' displays redundant labels

2011-08-26 Thread Sérgio Faria
@Marc, if it displayed Kingston DataTraveler 2.0: 4.0 GB Filesystem
then the patch would make it display 4.0 GB Filesystem like on the
Devices side-Panel. So E762-C972 should be the mount point and the
label is unset.

However if you label it E762-C972 it will display as E762-C972,
again, like on the devices side-panel.

[Bug 388904] Re: Nautilus 'Computer' displays redundant labels

2011-07-09 Thread Sérgio Faria
I just added a patch for natty (for a askubuntu.com question) that reverts the
commit pointed by #12.
I'm gonna add a branch for Oneiric soon.

** Patch added: Reverts the faulty commit in gvfs 1.8.0-0ubuntu2

Status in “gvfs” package in Ubuntu:

 Bug description:
  Binary package hint: nautilus

I am running Karmic Alpha 2

In previous versions of Ubuntu, when navigating to the 'Computer'
directory, nautilus would display the label of the partition, and if
it didn't have one, then the size of the media.

However, now (2.27.1) when I navigate to 'Computer', it displays too
much information, such as the name of the drive etc.

For example, before it would say:
  GENTOO

  Now it says:
41 GB ATA Maxtor 6E040L0: GENTOO

  and instead of saying:
  BACKUP

  it says:
500 GB ATA WDC WD5000AAKS-0: BACKUP
