[Bug 1773959] Re: High CPU usage by gnome-shell when only running gnome-terminal

2019-04-24 Thread Satya
I see same behaviour. recvmsg() with EAGAIN failures (lot!!). CPU
utilization is not very high for me. Like around 3% but constant usage.
I could see difference in battery life. Switched back to unity for now.

I see the status as "Fix released". Which ubuntu version has the fix?

Or is it possible to get the fix for 18.04 too (via gnome-shell
update?)?

Yes I too have same problem; the weird black screen with white lines of
some info scrolling up the screen. I'm connecting a bluetooth GPS device
using rfcomm and the system crashes randomly while connecting. I
desperate need the fix!

[Bug 285323] Re: Losing keyboard and mouse control when changing screen brightness with fn + arrow under intrepid

2008-11-13 Thread Satya
I am also facing the same problem on my DELL PRECISION M4300 (ubuntu
8.10 32bit). I came to know the culprit is "Fn+arrow" due to this
bug(thanks to google ..)

alteast I am happy that there is workaround (ctrl+alt+f1 and
ctrl+alt+f7).. Until now I had no other option than logout and login..
:(

Also since I know the root cause , I might try to avoid it :(

But please release the patch ASAP. If there is one and if it doesn't
cause other new problems, please point me to it.
