[Bug 1452538] Re: opendkim does not start properly when ldap server can't be contacted

2015-05-07 Thread Scott Kitterman
I can't replicate this on an older release with upstart instead of
systemd.

service opendkim start
Starting OpenDKIM: opendkim: /etc/opendkim.conf:
ldap://192.0.2.1/ou=people,dc=example,dc=com?DKIMSelector?sub?(DKIMIdentity=$d):
 dkimf_db_open(): Can't contact LDAP server
opendkim.
# ps -AF|grep opendkim
opendkim 677 1 0 63960 1648 0 Apr30 ?00:00:01 rsyslogd
root 3012 12880 0 2216 648 1 00:11 pts/400:00:00 grep opendkim
# service opendkim status
 * opendkim is not running

I suspect this is a systemd issue.

As a workaround, you might add SoftStart true to your opendkim.conf.
That should cause it to start normally without LDAP.

** Package changed: opendkim (Ubuntu) = systemd (Ubuntu)

that we should delay this until the next cycle. I guess there could have
been more coordinated testing earlier on.

Jackson, Tim, are you okay with this? If everything stays ready, you
could upload first-ish thing in the V cycle. I'd help you with
sponsoring and prodding of Canonical upstreams if you need it.

The only question I have is if we should consider a upower0.99 package for
this cycle only for Gnome to use to they won't be blocked on updating.

[Bug 1312349] Re: Microsoft bluetooth mobile keyboard 6000 cannot be used

2014-05-14 Thread Scott Kitterman
Hello Anthony, or anyone else affected,

Accepted gnome-bluetooth into trusty-proposed. The package will build
now and be available at http://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-
bluetooth/3.8.2.1-0ubuntu4.1 in a few hours, and then in the -proposed
repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to
enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this update
out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested, and change the tag
from verification-needed to verification-done. If it does not fix the
bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to
verification-failed. In either case, details of your testing will help
us make a better decision.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in
advance!

** Changed in: gnome-bluetooth (Ubuntu Trusty)
   Status: Triaged = Fix Committed

seb128 jbicha, well, in any case I've no objection to the update, under
the condition that whoever does the update deals with issues/fallouts

jbicha: Just so there's no confusion, the whoever is you.

[Bug 1153567] Re: [FFE] Use systemd-services rather than ubuntu-system-service systemdcompatibility code

Why was this not landed before feature freeze? One attribute of the
development schedule this cycle is that we move feature freeze later in
the cycle so that people could get work done before hand with the
understanding that we would not generally approve things that didn't
make it.

[Bug 937822] Re: [precise] F10 always opens the menu, cannot be overriden (after xkeyboard-config update)

2012-10-06 Thread Scott Kitterman
Hello Roman, or anyone else affected,

Accepted into precise-proposed. The package will build now and be
available in a few hours in the -proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to
enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this update
out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please change the bug tag from
verification-needed to verification-done. If it does not, change the
tag to verification-failed. In either case, details of your testing
will help us make a better decision.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in
advance!

OK. What will happen in that case (what's the default)? A lot of
Kubuntu users (including me) keep nm-applet installed just in case of
problem.

[Bug 912625] Re: #!/usr/bin/env python breaks Python-based Ubuntu packages in the presence of virtualenvs, local installations

2012-01-06 Thread Scott Kitterman
I'm not convinced this is a bug at all. Debian Python policy (which
Ubuntu uses) gives a preference to /usr/bin/python*, but says
/usr/bin/env python is allowable. You shouldn't put a non-system python
in your system's python path.
