[Bug 1405348] [NEW] Screen and keyboard brightness keys don't work on MacBook Air

2014-12-23 Thread Sebastian Haselbeck
Public bug reported:

I installed 14.10 on a 2013 11 MacbookAir.

What doesn't work: screen brightness keys (or brightness settings app
changes) actually changing brightness. Same goes for the keyboard light.
I see the indicators but nothing really happens.

** Affects: gnome-settings-daemon (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

[Bug 974963] Re: [soundnua]: hdmi audio missing in sound settings

2013-04-27 Thread Sebastian Haselbeck
yea and the idiotic thing is that it works in gnome shell. as if the
user interface had an impact on the audio outputs... this is really
ridiculous, so i have to log out and into gnome shell to use my hdmi
output with sound

Jeremy, how about with backports or some other ppa enabled? not having
keyboard layout changing options is basically a reason not to use 12.10
at all for a lot of people

[Bug 675918] Re: Login sound plays when 'Play login sound' is un-checked

2011-05-13 Thread Sebastian Haselbeck
definitely more than an uncheck bug, since this also happens sometimes
when u have to kill the computers power because Ubuntu froze (as happens
several times a day) and upon restart it just forgets things (such as
Firefox Persona, or login sound setting)

[Bug 573607] [NEW] Totem won't play XVID mpeg 4 files

2010-05-02 Thread Sebastian Haselbeck
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: totem

Opening a video file that's apparently and XVID MPEG4 encoded mediafile,
won't play in Lucid, with all gstreamer plugins installed. It says the
codec is missing and the codec search doesn't return any findings. no
packages with the requested plugins found: XVID MPEG-4 decoder

but I have every gstreamer plugin set known to man installed. what am I
doing wrong? I know VLC plays everything, but sometimes it's nice to
just being able to double click a file and play it, I mean I had it
working in karmic, so there must be a way of fixing this :) ideas?

so empathy is really incapable. I don't get it, why include a messaging

the neat telepathy inclusion in gnome, which could've also been
accomplished with a pidgin plugin? i'm annoyed
