[Bug 1774915] Re: Video freezes and stutters when using totem (audio continues fine)

2018-06-06 Thread Sergei
I've checked iowait using iotop during lags and revealed no spikes or something
like that. So it's not a performance problem at all. I believe gstreamer is
just dropping frames due to some bugs.
I had 17.10 installed and had no issue that time.

I don't think you should release this because this produces more critical bug.
This bug has some kind of workaround (cancel button), but I will have to
disable updates if there is an upcoming update that will totally break an
ability to switch users without any workaround.
I believe I'm not the only one who has multiple users on my PC.

[Bug 1769761] [NEW] Sometimes session doesn't start after success login (gnome, 18.04)

2018-05-07 Thread Sergei
Public bug reported:

This happens sometimes (~70% to happen) after I upgrdaded my ubuntu to 18.04.

Re: [Bug 1320157] Re: user space gnome-terminal overflows / file system

2014-05-21 Thread Sergei Vorobyov
gnome-terminal stores the scrollback content in a temporary file, opened
at the standard location which is /tmp by default, overridable with the
 standard TMPDIR environment variable

this default/standard location /tmp is certainly inadmissible, since it's
an obvious welcome hackers breach. Users should be restricted to use their
own quotas, even for the g-t. If there are thousands applications being
regularly used on a system which behave similarly, should all of them be
audited and reconfigured against such gotchas?

May be unlimited should be understood as unlimited within
 reasonable limits?

g-t tries to do what you ask from this. If you ask this to remember
everything, it tries to store everything. What do you mean by
reasonable limits? E.g. 1 million lines? Feel free to set this in
 gnome-terminal's preferences :)

[Bug 912119] Re: incorrect printing to a PDF-file

2012-01-08 Thread Sergei
when I print a part of a landscape PDF-document in Envice to PDF, it is
saved only in portrait orientation, despite of settings to print in
landscape orientation.

I have a PDF-document in landscape orientation. When I want to print a
part of this document I click: File - Print (Ctrl-P) then I choose pages
I need to print (like 4-6 or 23- 43) and select Album (Portrait) page
orientation in the next tab (Page option or Page parameters, I don't
know english translation) and click Print. As a result I have a new PDF-
document which contains only those pages I need. But it has Album
(Portrait) page orientation by default. How is it possible? 1 minute ago
I selected PORTRAIT not landscape. I can turn all pages to Portrait
orientation, of course. But I've not selected this orientation. Is it a
bug or I do something wrong?

[Bug 224475] Re: Pressing volume/brightness key changes window focus (e.g. makes Flash exit full screen)

2010-01-18 Thread Sergei Genchev
Another comment - while it very well may be Adobe bug, on my machine (Dell
D620, Karmic) if I watch flash in Firefox it exits full screen on volume change
but if I watch it in Chrome beta it does not. Chrome uses the same flash plugin
as Firefox. I do not know for sure if Chrome uses GTK or QT (or even quite
possibly it's own widgets).
Just another me too with info I have not seen in this bug.

[Bug 317537] Re: E: shm.c: mmap() failed: Cannot allocate memory

2009-01-28 Thread Sergei (Nolar) Vasilyev
Maybe related to bug with gstreamer-pulseaudio plugin, described here:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=47
It was fixed ~2009-01-15 and pushed to fedora updates ~2009-01-23.
Waiting it in Ubuntu updates (it is a security issue, i think, as it some kind
of resource leaking).

[Bug 36852] Re: Sound recorder records very fast, then freezes.

2008-10-28 Thread Sergei (Nolar) Vasilyev
Confirm this happens in 8.10, fresh and updated.

Can be fixed by setting Audio Source to PulseAudio (in `gnome-sound-
properties` OR by `gconftool -t string --set
/system/gstreamer/0.10/default/audiosrc pulsesrc`).

Similary, when no pulseaudio daemon is running, alsa works fine (does
not set pulse as default pcm).

Seems this is something in alsa-pulse plugin.

[Bug 70075] Re: mouse issue screensaver + rdesktop

2006-11-08 Thread Sergei Genchev
I confirm that - same problem. Happens with rdesktop definitely and I
think with vnc as well - although every time I had this happen with VNC,
there were rdesktop windows too and I am not 100% sure which one had the
focus.
