[Bug 1798166] Re: “Mouse battery low” notification can't be disabled

2021-10-14 Thread Shock
This has been fixed on the GNOME side. Can we have this backported?
I'm willing to do the backport, if it will get merged.

[Bug 551950] Re: gnome-bluetooth cannot use pin = 1234

2015-08-08 Thread Shock
I've tried tz's workaround and it doesn't work for me. I'm on Ubuntu
14.04 with up to date updates. Highly annoying as every time I want to
connect to my phone I have to pair it again (or remember the random 6
digit pin code that gnome-bluetooth insists I use).

[Bug 659841] Re: gnome-volume-control : master volume slider always displays 100%

2011-10-29 Thread Shock
The 100% does not represent the current volume. It marks the position
on the slider where the volume is at 100% without amplification. If you
move the slider to the right of the 100% mark then pulseaudio
amplifies the sound. You can see the same behavior in VLC where you can
have 200% volume. Again, 100% is maximum volume, without amplification.

[Bug 726902] Re: Loss of vsync when using Metacity.

2011-04-21 Thread Shock
I'm getting video tearing on an Asus EEE PC 901 using compiz+unity.

I've tried xv, gl, gl2 as video outputs for mplayer which all result in
video tearing. There is no video tearing if I use xv:adaptor=1 (video
overlay) as video output.

I have sync to vblank set in ccsm/opengl.

Let me know what else I can do to help fix this bug. Thanks.

[Bug 294796] [NEW] Evolution migration fails to migrate POP message downloaded status

2008-11-06 Thread Cedric Shock
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

When doing the Ubuntu 8.10 upgrade to evolution 2.24.1-0ubuntu2 the list
of already downloaded POP messages fails to be migrated/checked
correctly, resulting in (upon running evolution) an additional download
and thus two copies of every message that was both on the server and
previously downloaded by evolution.

[Bug 161887] Second source build results in Trying patch debian/patches/21_proxy_ignore_local.patch at level 1 ... 0 ... 2 ... failure.

2007-11-10 Thread Cedric Shock

apt-get source gnome-vfs2
cd gnome-vfs2-2.20.0
dpkg-buildpackage -rfakeroot -us -b

This results in:
Trying patch debian/patches/21_proxy_ignore_local.patch at level 1 ... 0 ... 2

This is caused by the patch 21_proxy_ignore_local.patch trying to modify

[Bug 48382] Re: nautilus can not change permissions in ssh session

2006-12-18 Thread Cedric Shock
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 9252 ***

Yes, this is still a problem. I'm using whatever version it is you're
calling LTS.

No, this is not a duplicate of bug #9252. In 9252 the remote owner
(root) is listed as the local user (mary). In this the remote owner is
shown as 695 (the correct uid of the logged-in user on the server). My
user id locally is 1000. The You are not the owner... message is
displayed and the permissions boxes are all greyed out.

[Bug 48382] nautilus can not change permissions in ssh session

2006-12-12 Thread Cedric Shock
Public bug reported:

When I attempt to change properties on a file I copied to my server with
ssh in nautilus all the controls are greyed out and the message:

You are not the owner, so you can not change these permissions.

Is displayed. The user used to log into ssh is indeed the owner of the
file.

Perhaps it is comparing the user id to the user id of the local user,
not the one it used to log into the server as.

This worked correctly in 5.10. I just switched to Flight X (whatever was
May 31st).

Also if I log into a terminal and change the permissions, and then copy
the file again and overwrite the permissions are reset. This might be
related (deletes, writes, believes it can't set permissions?).

This bug isn't a local security issue, but it is certainly a real
security issue.
