[Bug 859560] Re: Gedit line number margin doesn't scale with font size

2011-11-07 Thread Simon Allen
The issue appears to be a scintilla issue as this also affect the
Elementary project's scratch text editor.

[Bug 854624] Re: [oneiric] suspend/hibernate not performed according to Power Settings

2011-10-01 Thread Simon Allen
This also affects both my laptop and my desktop. (very annoying when you
are downloading something and go to bed and your computer shuts off half
way through). I can confirm all my power options in the control centre
are set to never suuspend.

$dpkg -s gnome-settings-daemon | grep ^Version
Version: 3.2.0-0ubuntu3

For that second command I don't actually get anything at all.

[Bug 854624] Re: [oneiric] suspend/hibernate not performed according to Power Settings

2011-10-01 Thread Simon Allen
OMG who on earth thought that two packages dconf and dconf-tools should
have the same executable name but completely different functionality?

With dconf-tools installed I get:

/org/gnome/settings-daemon/plugins/power/idle-dim-battery=false
/org/gnome/settings-daemon/plugins/power/sleep-display-ac=3600
/org/gnome/settings-daemon/plugins/power/sleep-display-battery=3600

From Eugene's second command.

I will set the sleep-display-ac to nothing and see what happens. Will
report back.

[Bug 854624] Re: [oneiric] Gnome3/Unity session fails to apply suspend/hibernate parameters, set by Power Settings dialog

2011-10-01 Thread Simon Allen
Yep, the suggestion above worked. My laptop would usually have
suspended by now but it's still alive and well. I didn't need to reboot
or anything.

I also tried using the gui to set the suspend settings and then
rebooting to see if the settings were applied. They were not so clearly
the gui just isn't communicating with the dconf.

[Bug 859560] [NEW] Gedit line number margin doesn't scale with font size

2011-09-26 Thread Simon Allen
Public bug reported:

Machine: 64bit Ubuntu Ocelot with all updates applied as of 26/09/2011.

The width of the Gedit line number margin (enabled in preferences)
doesn't scale with the font size. I am visually impaired and thus have
my gedit font size set to 16. However when I do this and press enter a
few times (so I have more than 9 lines in a file) the margin isn't
expanded to fit the new two digit number. When we have more than 99
lines (three digits), the margin scales correctly once more.

This happens on a new setup with fresh configuration files.

Steps to reproduce:
1). Open gedit
2). Change font size to 16 (probably also has issues at other sizes too).
3). Make more than 9 lines in the file.

[Bug 289971] Re: 4-in-a-row Ctrl+N imidiately after player wins works strange

2009-01-16 Thread Simon Allen
I can confirm this bug and know how to replicate it.

Upon winning a game and receiving four in a row, the bug can be
replicated by doing the following:

1/ Press ctrl+n to start a new game
2/ IMMEDIATELY (basically at the same time) after pressing the above
combination quickly double-click the left-mouse button. Sometimes, maybe 20-40%
of the time, the marbles will draw in the air and remain solid (when placing
further marbles they will sit on top of the ones that are in mid air).

This bug affects gnect 2.24.1.1, and can be confirmed by me on the human
vs human setting.

[Bug 317754] [NEW] [Jaunty] Volume panel applet crashes when trying to change volume

2009-01-15 Thread Simon Allen
Public bug reported:

Hi, On my Jaunty (upgraded from intrepid) install on my ASUS m51sn
laptop (3G model) there is a bug with the volume applet on the gnome-
panel.

Upon left-clicking the applet and changing volume the application
crashes completely before any setting can take effect. The applet can
not be closed by the usual methods. A logout and login makes the desktop
return to normal however the applet still produces these same effects.

I can also confirm the crash occurs when right-clicking the applet and
clicking to bring up the volume manager.

Occasionally, this crash will cause the entire destop to become
unresponsive. The only way to fix this is by going to a tty and doing a
service gdm restart.

I am unaware of any log files for this program but would be happy to
post them.
