[Bug 287714] [NEW] caps lock as additional control broken on intrepid
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-terminal I upgraded from Hardy to Intrepid, and the setting use capslock as additional control key no longer works. The setting is in: Preferences-Keyboard-Layouts-Other-Options-Ctrl key position Make CapsLock an additional Ctrl The radio button is on, but the terminal still has capslock. This is a regression since it worked in earlier releases, Gusty, Hardy, ... on same machine. ** Affects: gnome-terminal (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- caps lock as additional control broken on intrepid https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/287714 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-terminal in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 173350] Re: Caps lock LED changes state even when caps lock is mapped to ctrl
Gnome developers need to learn that regressions do matter. It doesn't matter if the new features are better if you piss off previous users. Maybe it's time to go back to KDE like Linus -- Caps lock LED changes state even when caps lock is mapped to ctrl https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/173350 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-control-center in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 173350] Re: Caps lock LED changes state even when caps lock is mapped to ctrl
I just had this problem on a my laptop. One important clue is that it started only after I enabled: Automatic Login Perhaps part of the keyboard initialization process is being accidentally skipped during automatic login? -- Caps lock LED changes state even when caps lock is mapped to ctrl https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/173350 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-control-center in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 187141] Re: gnome logout button takes forever
I figured out the problem is that I disabled the power manager under services. The power manager doesn't do anything useful on a desktop system, but the shutdown dialog talks to the power manager to determine if suspend/resume work. Therefore the problem is logout is trying to talk to the non-existent power manger. -- gnome logout button takes forever https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/187141 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug contact for gdm in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 187127] Re: [Hardy] ssh always asks to unlock private key
Closing the dialog box allows the ssh to work (one time), but doesn't work well in automated scripts! Doing same thing from console (text mode) works without dialog. -- [Hardy] ssh always asks to unlock private key https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/187127 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug contact for gnome-keyring in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 62522] Loss of ctrl-L file path dialog
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome The power user ish Control-L option to Gnome file dialog appears to be gone in Edgy Eft. If this another one of those Gnome Features where taking away functionality that mortals would want to use, please put it back.
