[Bug 1723615] Re: gnome-shell crashed with SIGSEGV in meta_monitor_mode_get_resolution()

2017-11-02 Thread Steven Harms
There was a Nvidia driver released today 384.94:
https://devtalk.nvidia.com/default/topic/1025953/b/t/post/5217907/#5217907

In the notes they mention:
* Fixed a bug that could cause OpenGL applications to crash after a prolonged
DPMS sleep state on a monitor driven with PRIME Sync.

Can you upgrade to this version and see if that resolves the issue?

[Bug 1720149] Re: gnome-shell segv on wake from display or system sleep

2017-10-01 Thread Steven Harms
Of interest, I can reproduce this on Ubuntu 17.10 beta, however it
doesn't occur on Debian Stretch. However I didn't test theme settings,
and was running Pop_OS! themes at the time. Next I will see if it
occurs with stock themes.

'modeset=1' for the nvidia driver where it was previously 0, you might
give that a shot and if that works we can mark this a duplicate.

After some research I believe this may be related:

I am trying a work around, let me know if this fixes anything:

echo 'needs_root_rights = yes' | sudo tee -a /etc/X11/Xwrapper.config

and reboot.

[Bug 437684] Re: cannot access 2nd drive on desktop

2009-09-27 Thread Steven Harms
We do not have enough information to begin working on this bug.

For the 2nd drive, what method is it being connected with (USB?)

Can you attach the output of 'sudo fdisk -l' when the drive is attached?
Has it been formatted?

If you cannot answer all of these questions, you may have better luck on
http://www.ubuntuforums.org as we only fix bugs here, but do not provide
configuration support.
