[Bug 1174686] [NEW] Cannot "Open folder in new window" since change to Files in Ubuntu 13.04

2013-04-30 Thread Steven Roose
Public bug reported:

Since Ubuntu's Nautilus changed his name to Files, it changed to another
upstream version.

In this version opening folders in a new window is no longer possible.
There still is an "Open in new tab" option, but no longer an option for
opening in a new window.

[Bug 1069531] Re: Cannot login to Empathy after setting up Google online account

2012-10-26 Thread Steven Roose
@Rob That solution I suggested doesn't at all implies you should have 2-factor
auth. All 2-factor auth options were between brackets.
What I think happened is that before, online-accounts stored your raw password
and now works by giving itself access via the default Google Auth API. So
people with 2-factor auth give this permission another way that people without
do.

Of course I'm not sure of this, that's just what is looks like if I see
what people are experiencing.

Re: [Bug 1069531] Re: Cannot login to Empathy after setting up Google online account

2012-10-24 Thread Steven Roose
I tried to state my solution for non 2-step verification users as well. I
think previously the Google Login stored a password and now works with
OAuth2 by giving Google access to your account and using an API Key.

You could report to the ubuntu online accounts project that it should be
possible to turn off certain integrations and/or choose specifically what
integration you want.

[Bug 1069531] Re: Cannot login to Empathy after setting up Google online account

2012-10-24 Thread Steven Roose
So the solution seems to be to remove an old Google Account that was
configured with a(n application-specific) password and add a new one
with OAuth2 using your regular password (+ phone code) and allowing
Ubuntu to access your account.

Empathy in Ubuntu doesn't use gnome-online-accounts but ubuntu-online-
accounts. The gnome-online-accounts are not really used by anything
anymore, and I thought they are no longer on the Settings screen.

2012-10-23 Thread Steven Roose
I had this problem too. Turned out to be because of the new Online Accounts
feature.
But sometime like 2 weeks ago they released an update for Online Accounts
(Google part) and it was fixed.

I'm on 12.10 and was on the 12.10 beta when the fix came.

[Bug 1065613] [NEW] Bluetooth stopped working between 12.10 beta 2 and now (days before 12.10 release)

2012-10-11 Thread Steven Roose
Public bug reported:

I upgraded to Ubuntu 12.10 when beta 2 was released. Untill a week after I did,
my Bluetooth worked normally. I was using it daily, so I know it was doing just
fine. I do a system update multiple times a day and since one of those, my
bluetooth stopped working.
Some of the problems are:
- After I open the bluetooth-applet (from gnome-bluetooth) and I want to slide
the ON/OFF switch to ON, it stays on OFF. When I try a second time, it stays at
ON.

- If I scan for devices (and I have another visible device next to it)
it just stays scanning forever without finding anything. (I know
bluetooth is on because I can see my computer on the other device.)

- If I turn off bluetooth from the applet or from the top bar, it stays
on. I stay seeing it on other devices. When I turn it back on and off
some times, it finally gets turned off.

I use a MacBook Pro i5 2.53GHz 15" 2010 in 64-bit.

I filed this for gnome-bluetooth, but probably it's caused by an error
in some underlying bluetooth package. I can find the following in my
update history:

- Mon Oct 1 17:31:20 2012
  Upgraded the following packages:
libbluetooth3 (4.101-0ubuntu5) to 4.101-0ubuntu6
  Installed the following packages:
libbluetooth-dev (4.101-0ubuntu6)

- Mon Oct 1 18:42:04 2012
  Upgraded the following packages:
gir1.2-gnomebluetooth-1.0 (3.5.92-0ubuntu1) to 3.6.0-0ubuntu1
gnome-bluetooth (3.5.92-0ubuntu1) to 3.6.0-0ubuntu1
libgnome-bluetooth11 (3.5.92-0ubuntu1) to 3.6.0-0ubuntu1
  Installed the following packages:
bluetooth (4.101-0ubuntu6)

Will a fix be released before the official Ubuntu 12.10 release?
