[Bug 280949] [NEW] evolution memory leaking, system thrashing
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evolution (intrepid with all updates installed running on a SamsungQ45) Several times I have been experiencing massive harddisk usage / swap usage and the system got so unresponsive that I couldn't log in on any tty as the login attempts would time out after 60 seconds. This happens at seemingly random times without me doing any special actions. When I used sysrq / oom_kill (out of memory killer) it killed evolution and shortly afterwards everything was back to normal. I have attached the part of /var/log/messages containing SysRq information gathered during the incident. Please let me know if there is more information that I can provide to help. ** Affects: evolution (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- evolution memory leaking, system thrashing https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/280949 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evolution in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 274887] [NEW] system unresponsive/thrashing after long idle time
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager system: intrepid(amd64) with all current updates on a Samsung Q45 laptop problem scenario: I boot up ubuntu and everything works smoothly. However when I leave the laptop running/idling for several hours (power-on in the morning.. get back from work) it either is very unresponsive and suffers from very heavy hdd access to an extent that it takes up to a minute to log in to a terminal session or it sometimes (but not as often) won't respond anymore at all - just a blank screen. I don't have any screensavers configured so I assume the screen is blanked by power preferences. I am not running any special software or tasks. Mostly when idling it is just firefox/evolution/pidgin. When I check top in this troublesome state I cannot spot a responsible process. Redrawing of X applications takes very long and usually the system recovers again after some minutes. I realize this report is terribly lacking in terms of details but I don't see what else I could report that would be of use. The problem arises basically whenever I leave the laptop running for an extended time. If there is any way that I can make this report more usable, let me know. This behavior is rather annoying/troublesome. ** Affects: gnome-power-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- system unresponsive/thrashing after long idle time https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/274887 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-power-manager in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 21979] Re: evolution new message count on frequently lags
I have this problem as well. Even when I do a refresh of the inbox it does not display the correct amount of unread mails. It just gets corrected after some arbitrary time. -- evolution new message count on frequently lags https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/21979 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
